SNUNS meeting
DIMAPUR: South Nagas’ union of Nagaland state (SNUN) has convened an emergency meeting on November 17, 11am at the conference hall of People In-Need Foundation Society, opposite Hotel Saramati, Super Market, Dimapur. All presidents/secretaries/representatives of federating tribal units of south Nagas’ union of Nagaland state and office bearers of SNUNS have been requested to attend the meeting.
Kohima DPDB meet
DIMAPUR: The monthly meeting of the Kohima District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting will be held on November 15 at 12:30pm at DC’s Conference Hall, Kohima. DC Kohima, Bei-u Angami has informed all PIOs and APIOs of the district to stay back after the DPDB meeting for another round of discussion.
YYA 37th session
DIMAPUR: The 37th general session of Yondon Youth Association (YYA) will be held on December 17 at the office of its association with O. Myingthungo Ngullie ex- president YYAP as chief guest. Secretariat assistant Kohima N. Mhonthung Odyuo speaker of the session would deliver a talk on the theme ‘Role of youth for economic up liftment in the present society’. The association has informed all members to attend the programme.
MHD body meet
DIMAPUR: A general body meeting of Mao Hoho Dimapur (MHD) has been convened on November 27, 1pm at community hall (Ashühe Mao Colony) Kuda village, Dimapur. All public have been requested to attend the meeting.
NPF meeting
DIMAPUR: Naga peoples’ front (NPF) central office bearers (tour programme) team has convened a meeting with Dimapur division on November 16, 10 am at Hotel Saramati conference hall. All division office bearers, division women wing, division youth wing, division farmers wing, 10 (ten) representatives from respective A/Cs and former candidates of 5 (five) A/C under Dimapur division have been requested to attend the meeting.
Registration of land at Ekranipathar village
DIMAPUR: The Ekranipathar village in its November 11 meeting resolved to adopt amendments in the village jurisdiction. A press statement issued by chairman village council N. Lukhevi Shohe and secretary village council G. Yezheto Yeptho and GBs Wilson Sangma and Hotoshe Zhimo notified all residents owning land and plot within the village jurisdiction of the village council to get registered on or before January 1, 2011 from their respective land where non- Nagas are kept as representative of the land. The village council also resolved that so cases such as theft, burglary, elopement, murder or unlawful activities would be entertained unless registered as citizen of the village
ZSUK annual session cum picnic held
DIMAPUR: Zeliangrong student union Kohima (ZSUK) conducted its annual session cum picnic on November 6 at new high court complex, Meriema. The formal session was chaired by general secretary followed by the presidential address. Meanwhile, ZSUK also conducted election of new office bearers for the tenure 2010-2011 on November 13 and elected Peihauhangbe as president and Japhet as general secretary.
WDAU to conduct mobile court checking
DIMAPUR: The Wokha District Auto rickshaw Union (WDAU) held its general meeting on October 30 at public ground Wokha. The meeting deliberated on various issues faced by the union. WDAU resolved to conduct mobile court/checking from time to time. The house also resolved to organize its annual picnic on November 27 at New Wokha Village. Union president Chonchithung Murry further informed its registered members to be present at the picnic cum annual session.
Book launching at Kolkata
DIMAPUR: Noel Manuel’s recently launched books ‘Messages for the Youth,’ ‘Do your shoes fit?’ and ‘Voices of the People’ will be collectively launched on November 15 at the Pailan World School, Bengal Pailan Park, Joka Kolkata. The chairman of Pailan Group Apurba Saha and school Principal Ken Jarman of Australia will be present on the occasion. Noel Manuel’s books have been recently selected by the Raja Rammohun Roy Library Foundation Kolkata
RSU clarifies on Parashen history
DIMAPUR: Rengma Students’ Union has clarified the released issued by the union which was published in local dailies on November 14 on NSF assembly to be held at Parashen. RSU, president Kenneth Rengma clarified that the line “It was only after Parashen that the nomenclature of Naga Home Guard was to FGN” should read as “NNC, formed in 1946 and the Free Naga Government or the Honkin government led by Gen. Thungdi Chang formed in 1954, freely and willingly merged into the Federal Republic of Nagaland and established the Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN). The 1st Tatar Hoho session was held at Parashen on 22nd March, 1956 where Gen. Thungdi Chang, now “C-in-C” of Naga Army raised the 1st Naga Independence flag on this day”. Further, the union clarified that last line of the news item should read as “NSFs fourth federal assembly set up at Parashen is to be unveiled by NSF president Mutsikhoyo Yhobo”.

‘Healing glory festival’
DIMAPUR: A three day ‘Healing glory festival’ would be held from November 19 at NCRC prayer centre, 7th mile Ruveba, Dimapur. Speaker for the festival would be Rev. (Dr.) B. Dunai. Services would be conducted in English and Nagamese. Service starts at 4pm on Friday and 10am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.
KV centenary jubilee
DIMAPUR: Kiyezu Village (KV) would be celebrating centenary jubilee on January 27 and 28, 2011. All GBs, village elders, Sumi officers, public and well-wishers under western Sumi and surrounding villages have been requested to co-operate for success of the programme.
