Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has expressed happiness over the release of Aung San Suu Kyi by the military Junta of Burma (Myanmar) on November 13.
Military Junta has been coming down heavily against the pro-democracy activists particularly to its key leader like Suu Kyi and unleashing a reign of trepidation against the minority communities like the Kachins, Karensand especially the Nagas on many occasions, the military Junta has launched offensive operations against the Nagas by way of burning down the Naga Villages thereby rendering homeless and displacing thousands, desecrating the place of worships, forced labour etc., despite of continuous violation of Human rights, stated NSF President, Mutsikhoyo Yhobu .
Naga Students’ Federation said with the release of Suu Kyi, the attention of the world has been drawn and hopefully the international community would rise up and voice out for the rights of minority communities in Burma especially the Nagas as Nagas have been divided into two nation (i.e Burma & India) “much against its wishes”.
The Federation urged the military Junta of Burma to propagate and implement democracy both in letter and spirit as enunciated by its leadership.
