Rejoinder to TPO on Intangki

: Responding to a statement made by the Tenyimi People’s Organization (TPO) over Intangki National Park, the head GB, Inavi/Hevito village, Hevito Swu has said that the “so called Beisumpui” village was established in the land of Lilan village, after crossing six Kuki villages. He said that a case was filed against Beisumpui village by the villagers of Lilan and that during the proceeding it was established beyond doubt that Beisumpui fell under Lilan’s land. He said it was also established that Beisumpui was a village forcibly established ignoring all governmental procedures and customary norms within Lilan’s legal jurisdiction creating much hardships to Lilan and a serious magnitude of law and order situation.
The head GB said that the judgment was held in favour of Lilen village and the Beisumpui villagers were evicted from Lilen’s land. “If so, then how come the donors finally became the encroachers? More so, how come/under what pretext the forest department arranged the exchange of Lilan’s land with Beisumpuikam?” the GB asked.
