1 NAP Bn Delhi Spiritual awakening
DIMAPUR: A spiritual awakening programme for personnel of 1 NAP Battalion Delhi was held on November 13 and 14 at its Church premises, Vijay Ghat with Prof. Imchayanger and Dongliana, evangelist as resource persons. The resource persons exhorted believers on the importance of spiritual life and personal relationship with God. The programme was a blessing for the police personnel who have been deployed away from home.
DIMAPUR: Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha Nagaland (BJYMN) has condemned the “highhandedness” of police personnel where four youths from Nihoto village were brutally beaten up by the ‘C’ company of 11 IR Bn. Jawans in an inebriated state on November 10 at Deluxe Point. BJYMN condemned the “high handedness and uninvited atrocities” meted out to the public by security personnel on duty. BJYMN also appealed authority in-charge to book the culprits deliver justice to the innocent victims.
Ahuna celebration at Thahekhu village
DIMAPUR: The school sector of Thahekhu village celebrated Ahuna on November 13 at the residence of Ihoto Chishi, (Retd) Forest Ranger at Thahekhu village. The celebration was observed with religious fervor and marked with playing of traditional games like spear shooting, fire-making, egg-tricks, tug of war competitions by parents and talent show competition by small children. Kiyehe Awomi narrated the significance of Ahuna and also demonstrated the “genas” performed by fore-fathers for the ensuing harvest year. A book titled “A brief ethical religions of the world” by Er. L. Yezhekhu Yepthomi, chief engineer, PWD Housing, Nagaland was also released by Y. Hewoto Awomi, MLA and former minister, Nagaland.
DDPA new office bearers
DIMAPUR: Dimapur district pensioners’ association (DDPA) held its meeting on November 13 and elected a new team of office bearers led by L Vikuto Wotsa as president, Shanpan Lotha as general secretary, L Teka Longchar as treasurer and C Y Kithan as advisor.
NPA condemns looting incident
KOHIMA: Nagaland Pensioners’ Association (NPA) has condemned October 23 incident where `80 lakh was looted from the staff of SBI Chedema Branch by armed miscreants at Zoudo colony. NPA president, V. Angami while condemning the incident, urged the law enforcing agency to apprehend and book the culprits for prosecuting necessary action as per the law of the land. The association also requested SBI officials to strictly adhere to the norms of security arrangement by the government so as to avoid such incidents in future.
D‘B’VC inform residents
DIMAPUR: Diphupar ‘B’ Village Council (D‘B’VC) has informed that, as per the resolution adopted during the general meeting, residents under its village jurisdiction has been asked to remove/cut down all teaks, and bamboo plants on or before December 15. The council cautioned that those who fail to comply with the directives would be penalized as per public resolution.
SIPMIU topographic survey in Kohima
KOHIMA: Administrator Kohima Municipal Council (KMC), Alun Hangsing has informed that the State Investment Programme Management and Implementation Unit (SIPMIU) would be conducting Topographic Survey in the entire KMC jurisdiction. The survey, according to Alun Hangsing would be conducted for the purpose of providing water supply and sewerage system. In this regard, Hangsing requested the respective panchayats/colonies to extend full cooperation for smooth conduct of the survey work.
NSCOA: Nagaland state co-operative officers’ association, Kohima has felicitated Imkonglemla Longkumer on being promoted to the post of registrar of cooperative societies, Nagaland, Kohima. The association has further wished M Imtila Jamir, outgoing registrar, of co-operative societies, Nagaland, Kohima, for her successful service of 35 years in moulding the co-operative department.
