NLA speaker convenes BAC meet
DIMAPUR: Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) speaker Kiyanilie Peseyie, who is also chairman of Business Advisory Committee (BAC), has convened a meeting on November 29, 11am at the committee room of Assembly Secretariat. The meeting would finalize provisional programme for the ensuing 8th session of the 11th NLA, scheduled to commence from December 9.
PVSU general meeting
DIMAPUR: Phiro Village Student Union (PVSU) has convened its general meeting on November 17, 10am at its Church premises, Phiro village. All jubilee conveners, sub committee members, general public and executive members of PVSU have been requested to attend the meeting.
TAUK executive meeting
DIMAPUR: Tobu Area Union Kohima (TAUK) has convened an executive meeting cum audit for 2009-2010 on November 20, 10am at the residence of Anden Muklong, treasurer, TAUK.
ENSUD meeting venue changed
DIMAPUR: Eastern Nagaland Students’Union Dimapur (ENSUD) emergency presidential meeting venue has been changed to the residence of Athrongba Sangtam, opposite Dr. Belho nursing home, Walford colony. Date and timing would remain the same, added ENSUD.
Health mela at Ikiesingram, Peren
DIMAPUR: Chief medical officer, Peren district has informed the public of Athibung block to avail the opportunity of one (1) day health mela sponsored by NRHM (IEC). The mela would be conducted by CMO establishment Peren at Ikiesingram, Athibung block on November 20 with multi specialist, medicine, ENT, EYE, obs & gyne, dental etc., medicines would also be provided free of cost.
CDR emergency meeting
DIMAPUR: Dr. R. Rio, convener, contract doctor regularized (CDR) has informed other contract doctors regularized in 2002, 2005 and 2006 under H&F.W Nagaland to attend an urgent meeting regarding service matter on November 27, 3pm at Sikkim restaurant, near SBI (main) branch, hospital road, Dimapur. KBTA conference
DIMAPUR: Wokha Village Baptist Church would be hosting Kyong Baptist Theological Association (KBTA) conference May 20-22 next year. In this connection, office bearers of KBTA visited WVBC board of deacons on November 14 for fellowship and to highlight on agenda for the conference.
Mon VDB conference-cum-training
DIMAPUR: Chenwetnyu village will be hosting Mon district VDB conference-cum-training on November 23, which would also coincide with the inauguration of completed rural housing of the village, at 9am. Parliamentary secretary for RD & REPA, Pangnyu Phom would grace the programme as chief guest. In this regard, Chenwetnyu village council has requested all citizens of the village residing in different places to participate in the programme.
Sree Ayyappapooja Samithy, Kohima
DIMAPUR: Sree Ayyappa Mandala Pooja would be held at Sree Sree Radhakrishna Temple, Chandmari, Kohima from November 17 to 28. Various Poojas would start at 5.30am on the 1st day followed by release of a book “Lord Ayyappa of Mount Sabari” by R. Ramakrishnan IAS, secretary to Governor, Nagaland. Every day Pooja, Arathy, Bhajans by various organizations and Prasad distribution would take place during the occasion.
Blood donation camp in Chumukedima
DIMAPUR: Rotaract Club of Chumukedima is organizing blood donation camp on November 17, 9am at Police Hospital Chumukedima. The club has requested interested persons in donating blood to reach Police hospital Chumukedima on November 17 or contact RC Chumukedima. A team of doctors from Civil Hospital headed by Dr. Temsu would attend the blood donation camp.
Musical concert at IMC on Nov 18
DIMAPUR: Miqlat Ministry NBCCWD and NBCCYD would be presenting “Echoes of Love”, a musical concert in aid of support Miqlat ministry NBCCWD on November 18, 5pm at IMC hall, Dimapur. The concert would feature adult choir, Kuda Baptist Church, Power faith, Sinai Ministry, Atso and brothers, Vizho Thakhro, Neikuolie Khiezhie, Kethozhavi Liegise, Kenei Mepfhu-o, Ruguoser Liegise and many more.
ACRCM to celebrate silver jubilee
KOHIMA: Angami Christian Revival Ministry (ACRCM) would be celebrating its silver jubilee from November 19 to 21 at Angami Christian Revival Council of Churches, Mission Centre, Kohima on the theme ‘Serve the child for the crown’. Main celebrant of the jubilee would be Rev. Yagwelie Shüya, Chairman, ACRCC who would proclaim the opening of silver jubilee celebration. Main speakers would be Rev. Dr. N. Paphino, Rev. Khriezetuo Keretsü, Müdohü Kezo and Neilhounuo Kuotsu and the official pianist Ketoulhoukhoü Belho. The celebration will start at 4pm on November 19.
SOUDA inform villagers
DIMAPUR: Shena Old Union Dimapur Area (SOUDA) has convened an annual prayer cum 31st year programme on November, 7am at the residence of Dr. Toiho Sema, supply colony. All Shena old villagers residing in Dimapur and surrounding areas have been requested to attend the programme.
5 Ghaspani-11 A/C Nihokhu unit meet
DIMAPUR: ACC-1, 5 Ghaspani-11 A/C Nihokhu unit has convened an emergency meeting on November 20, 10am at the residence of Khekiho Yeptho, president, Toshiho village. All office bearers of ACC parent body, Mahila AMCC and youth AYC have been requested to attend the meeting.
EUUN to conduct training
DIMAPUR: Educated Unemployed Union Nagaland (EUUN) would be conducting training programme on value addition on fruits and meat, wax candle making, and washing soap making. Interested educated unemployed have been requested to submit names to its office (opposite Census office), H.S road, Rakobozou, Kohima. EEUN further informed that seats would be allotted on first come first basis.
KSU golden jubilee
DIMAPUR: Kuthur Students’ Union (KSU) golden jubilee planning chairman has informed all in-charges and participants in the upcoming jubilee celebration to reach the station by December 6. Chairman further invited all parents and students of Kuthur village to attend the celebration.
Training on mushroom cultivation
DIMAPUR: Maple society, channel for socio-economic action, Chumukedima would be organizing a training on mushroom cultivation for the unemployed, SHGs etc., on November 18 at Chumukedima town and November 19 at Sovima village from 10am to 12:30 pm. 1 killed in mishap in Wokha
DIMAPUR, NOV 16 (NPN): One Er. Nsemo Ezung, a retired PWD Engineer, died after he was hit by a moving scooter below DC’s office around 11am at Wokha town on Tuesday. The deceased received severe head injury. He was rushed to the hospital but later succumbed to his injuries. Er Nsemo Ezung’s funeral service is scheduled for 12 noon Wednesday. (Staff Reporter)
AIDS, STD awareness programme in Mon
DIMAPUR: Mobile ICTC under Turning Point Organization (TPO) conducted awareness programme on HIV and AIDS, STD and substance abuse on November 10 at Sub-jail, Mon and on November 14 at Angphang village. Director, TPO, H.Chongying, in a release stated that the programme had been organised to sensitize HRGs and youth on transmission and its preventive measure including harm reduction where counseling and blood testing of participants were also made. TPO informed that free medicines and treatment for STI would be available at Mobile ICTC and civil hospital, Mon.
KPA-SSWLL informs
DIMAPUR: Kiu Phüngü Arihako (KPA) of Shamator village, Shamator town, Wapher, Leangkonger and Lasokiur villages (SSWLL) informed all persons from the five villages involved or enrolled in “Saramati Region” to report to their respective village council on or before November 25.
A press release issued by KPA-SSWLL chairman Kiuji and secretary Shitopong stated that this notice was resolved at a meeting of village council members and student representatives held November 9 to discuss matters pertaining to “prevailing situation” that arose from the recent formation of “Saramati Region” of NSCN (I-M) in Yimchunger area. KPA-SSWLL cautioned that it would be compelled to take its own course of action on the event of failure to comply with the resolution.
Awareness on disability
KOHIMA: National Awareness Programme on disability would be held on November 19, 9am at State Academy Hall, Kohima. According to an official bulletin, the programme, which will officially flag off ‘Badhte Kadam’ will be graced by the minister of school education, Nyeiwang Konyak as the chief guest, parliamentary secretary for social welfare, child & women development, Chotisüh Sazo will be the guest of honour.
Mon: In connection with awareness programme on disability to be organized on the December 3 at Mon town, a meeting was held at the office chamber of DC, Mon on November 12. According to an official bulletin, DC, Mon, Dinesh Kumar, briefed the importance of observing ‘World Disability Day’. The members deliberated on various issues regarding welfare of disabled persons in the district and resolved to distribute wheel chairs and organize disability camp on that day at Council hall, Mon.
