Armed goons abduct, loot officer, others

Unidentified armed miscreants in the wee hours of November 14 abducted assistant conservator of forest (in-charge officer of Peren range) and four others, some 6 km away from ARTC & S, Sukhovi (towards Jalukie), and looted cash and other items, it has been reported.
According to assistant conservator of forest Heuneilung the incident took place at around 2:45 a.m. while he along with four others was moving towards Jalukie.
He said some unidentified armed persons, numbering five to six, in full combat uniform stopped the vehicle at gun point and forcibly took them to a near by jungle.
After puling them down from the vehicle, the miscreants tied their hands, searched their body and took away money, mobile set and vehicle key.
Subsequently they were whisked away separately and tied them against the trees.
During that time, the officer said he also discovered that two more persons (driver and handyman of a truck) were also kept at the same site.
He said the miscreants threatened to shoot them to death if they attempted to escape.
However, they managed to escape and reached Pimla village, the forest officer said.
From there they eventually reached ARTC & S, wherein they reported the incident to the Assam Rifles.
Meanwhile, the officer has also informed all responsible not to receive or entertain his cell phone number 9436209826, which was looted by the miscreants.
