Monthly DPDB meetings

District Planning & Development Board was held in Kohima and Wokha on November 15. In Kohima meeting was held at DC’s Conference Hall, Kohima under the chairmanship of Chairman, Kohima DPDB & Advisor, IT&C, Vikho-o Yhoshü.
The board constituted LADP verification committee where each circle is to be headed by administrative officer and verification of schemes to be done administratively and not constituency wise, stated an official bulletin.
Referring to Kohima DPDB Action Calendar 2010, ADC, Planning, Kohima, Ketoho Luho apprised on concept of ‘Back to the Roots’ and ‘Village Vision Cell’ a new initiative by Kohima DPDB for village reconstruction. DFO, Kohima gave a presentation of departmental activities and apprised the house on joint forest management which was started in 2001 through National Afforestation Programme under the National Afforestation and Eco Development Boards.
He also briefed on objectives of the programme which include effective utilization of jhumland, ensuring supply of fuel wood and small timber, checking of land erosion through soil conservation measures, maintenance of ecological integrity of the region, generation of income and employment, development of Commons Property Resources, conservation and Promotion of Non-timber Forest produces, improve quality of life for the Forest Dependent Community, Capacity building and use of improved technologies.
EE, South Division, PWD (R&B), Kohima while presenting his departmental activities, highlighted on construction of new roads and bridges, maintenance of roads, ongoing projects including improvement of roads, maintenance and repair, up-gradation of roads and new roads under proposals. EE (NH), Kohima Division, Er. Fineson Pojar also highlighted various activities under department and ongoing projects. The board further decided to recommend up-gradation of GMS, Khonoma.
WOKHA: Monthly meeting in November was held at New Wokha village under Chairmanship of DC Wokha with minister for agriculture Dr. Chumben Murry and parliamentary secretary for prison, home guards and fire & emergency services Er. Wochumo Kithan.
In regard to the construction of district level sports complex Wokha, the DC informed the house that necessary direction to the contractor to resume the work and completion of land development works has been given, stated an official bulletin.
Change of nomenclature of GHSS to Mhondamo Memorial GHSS was deliberated and decided to form a sub-committee with SDO (C) Sadar Anthony Ngullie as the convener and DEO and DIS Wokha as members. The chairman requested the sub-committee to summarize the script put forward by Good Shepherd Ministry and submit to Kyong Hoho for approval.
Permission for opening of new school namely Santsüo School (nursery) at Rachan Colony Wokha and Gandhiji Raostra Bhasha (Hindi) Niropen Colony Wokha was recommended by the board for consideration.
The proposal submitted by New Wokha Village for Sub-Health Centre and water supply was deliberated by the board and decided to request department in-charge to put up a proposal for approval. For effective coverage and implementation of scheme to be carried out under RD department at Wokha, Kyong Hoho requested the board for re-organisation and creation of new RD blocks. DC informed the various sub-committees for the Tokhu Emong cum state Road Show to submit the final accounts and report on or before November 20.
Minister for agriculture while delivering vote of thanks expressed gratitude to all committee members and entire Kyong community for support and cooperation in making Road Show cum Tokhu Emong a grand success.
Next Wokha DPDB meet would be held on December 9 at DC Wokha Conference Hall.
