Nagaland State Co-operation Field Service Association (NSCFSA) has expressed opposition to state government’s purported contemplation to appoint consultant for co-operation department and managing director of MARCOFED.
The association, in a representation to state commissioner and secretary co-operation department, dated November 16, requested him to refrain from appointing any consultant in co-operation department and not to disturb the present arrangement in MARCOFED Ltd.
NSCFSA said it did not see any reason for appointing a consultant in the co-operation department. It stated that such exercise would not only work upon the interest of the serving officers and field staffs but could deteriorate the smooth functioning of the department to a great extent. It also said that co-operation department has sufficient experienced and capable officers who could shoulder any higher responsibilities if offered a chance.
Further, the NSCFSA claimed that government was considering offering the post of managing director of MARCOFED Ltd, currently under the charge of a departmental officer, to other non-departmental candidate, ignoring the prevailing by-laws of the federation.
Maintaining that it was satisfied with the present arrangement, the association urged the government “not to disturb the present arrangement whatsoever made with the intent to benefit non-departmental officer/candidate, as such arrangement will be against the interest of departmental officers/staffs.”
