Naga Council meet re-scheduled
DIMAPUR: A public meeting of the Naga Council scheduled for November 22 has been postponed to November 23. The meet has been postponed keeping in mind the anniversary of Khehoi designated camp anniversary on November 22, added Naga Council.
‘Good News Mission’ convention
DIMAPUR: Good News Mission will host a convention on Tuesday, November 23 from 1:30 pm to 3:30pm. All Christian leaders of Nagaland-including pastors, missionaries, and reverends of Dimapur have been invited at the convention. In the presence of the entire media, Good News Mission would be conducting open discussion on the Bible, with prominent Church leaders on November 23 at Good News Mission Dimapur Center, House No. 173, Walford Area, Dimapur.
Committee on subordinate legislation meet
DIMAPUR: Chairman, committee on subordinate legislation, K.V. Pusa, MLA, has convened a meeting on November 22, 11am at committee room, assembly secretariat. The meeting has been convened for consideration and adoption of 31st report on Nagaland rural development service rules, 2006. All concerned committee members have been requested to attend the meeting.
Home department notifies
DIMAPUR: In pursuance of finance department (Revenue Branch) Office Memorandum NO.FIN/REV-3/15/2000 (VOL.I) dated 20/7/2010 for generation of additional resources of the state, the Governor of Nagaland is pleased to realize an amount of `500/- (Rupees Five Hundred) only as processing fee for each applicant and for issue of PAP/RAP through treasury challan under the head of account “0070-OAS” (Other Administrative Services). The order comes to effect with effect from the date of issue of this order i.e November 9, stated an official bulletin. This notification was issued by the Principal Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, C.J. Ponraj, IAS.
CGBCU silver jubilee postponed
DIMAPUR: Changkikong GBs and Council Union (CGBCU) has informed that its silver jubilee scheduled for December 9 at Alongkima HQ has been postponed to December 10. Rest of the programme would remain unchanged, informed the union.
VKRSU meeting
DIMAPUR: VK Range Students’ Union (VKRSU) has convened a meeting for the forthcoming annual session on November 20 at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur at 9:30am. All executives, members of VK Area Youth Organisation Dimapur, unit, and college students of the area have been requested to attend the meeting. Meanwhile, VKRSU and VKAYOD has congratulated 1st runner-up Miss Sumi Kihikali K.Awomi for her achievement.

DIMAPUR: Sapotimi Students’ Union (SSU) Suruhuto Range has convened a meeting for the upcoming annual session on November 21 at 1:30 pm at the residence of vice president at LRC colony. All executives have been requested to attend the meeting.
NRDSA executive meet
DIMAPUR: Executive body meeting of Nagaland Rural Development Service Association (NRDSA) has been convened on November 22, 11am at the directorate of rural development, Kohima.
ACRCM silver jubilee
KOHIMA: The Angami Christian Revival Children Ministry (ACRCM) silver jubilee celebration will take place from November 19 to 21 at ACRCC, Mission Centre Kohima with the theme “Serve the child for the crown”. The resource persons will be rev. Dr. D.L. Sanchu, Rev. Khriezetuo Keretsii, Miidohii Kezo, associate pastor and Neilhounuo Kuotsu.
PCK community hall
KOHIMA: The Riipreo Chienuo Krotho (PCK) will inaugurate its community hall (Morung) and Dahou (Fort) on November 22 at 10am at Chiechama Village by DC Kohima R. Beiu Angami. Every member of Riipreo and well wishers has been requested to attend the function. The union also invited all its in law’s to attend the function with their family.
NFTA general body meeting
KOHIMA: 18th general body meeting of Nagaland Fisheries Technical Association (NFTA) will be held on November 23 at 10.30am at the directorate of fisheries, Kohima, All members have been requested to attend the meeting without fail. Any absentee during the meeting shall be fined `1000/- and members abstaining from the meeting for any relevant circumstances should be intimated to the NFTA officials in written through the concern district fisheries officer join secretaries, added NFTA. Social works
KOHIMA: In connection with the mass social work in Kohima on November 19, home department secretariat administration branch (A) has informed all employees working in the civil secretariat to assemble at high school junction at 10am and start the social work till VIP Gate- and 11. Employees have been requested to bring daos, spades and brooms for social work. All section officers of respective branches/departments have been directed to take attendance.
GPPK: Gorkha Public Panchayat Kohima (GPPK) has informed all the Gorkhas of various colonies to participate in the social work on November 19, 9am at their respective colonies as directed by the deputy commissioner.
VCKKK: A social work organized by Viswema Catholic Kewhira Kebako Krotho will be held on November 20 at 10am at Cathedral Church Kohima. All VCKKK members have been asked to participate in the social work along with their spade and dao.
VDB Kohima: The VDB union Kohima block will be conducting social work on November 22 at 9 am at its rest house between Peducha village and Mengujuma village. All VDB secretaries of both men and women and GRS of all member villages have been requested to be present at the social work.
AISGDF (CC) inform members
KOHIMA: The All India State Government Drivers’ Federation, Central Committee New Delhi has informed its members that a rally will be held on November 26 at Kolkata organized by the West Bengal Government Drivers’ Mechanical Employees Association. The federation also informed that a zonal conference of the All India State Drivers’ Federation South-East zone will be held at Chinsurah in Hooghly district of West Bengal.
KMV inaugurates GPS
DIMAPUR: Keltomi Model Village (KMV) under DIS Aghunato, Zunheboto, inaugurated a new class room of GPS under SSA scheme on October 28. The function was attended by head GB Hoshito Yeptho, chairman, village council Hevito Achumi, and chairman VEC Kihoto Zhimo.
Khelma Village on sale, purchase of land
DIMAPUR: Head GB, Khelma Village (KV) has informed that sale, purchase of land under KV jurisdiction has been prohibited by GBs and village council. Purchasing land without the knowledge of GBs and village council would be doing so at ones own risk, added the village council.
ATC inform land owners
DIMAPUR: Ad-Hoc Town Council (ATC) east Dimapur has informed all land owners of Purana Bazar police point to Dhansiri river along NH.39 to co-operate with the council’s authority in construction of drainage initiated by the Road and Bridges, Highways Authority.
GPRN recovers stolen vehicle
DIMAPUR: Dimapur town Commander, GPRN recovered a stolen vehicle, Hero Honda Splendour, bearing engine No.GAOSEBA9HO8240 chassis No. MBLGA95EGA9H88155 from Rail Bazaar colony Dimapur on November 16. 2 I/c Dimapur town command Lt. Col. Hevuto Achumi has informed the rightful owner to claim the vehicle by producing proper documents within 15 days from its office.
KSU platinum jubilee meet
DIMAPUR: History and souvenir committee of Kyong Students’ Union (KSU) platinum jubilee 2010 has convened a meeting on November 21 at 9:30am at Tourist Lodge Wokha. All members of committee, jubilee overall co-ordinator, convener and co- convener of the steering committee and president KSU have been requested to attend the meeting.

ZPO executive meeting
DIMAPUR: Special ZPO executive meeting was held on November 17 at town hall, Peren. The meeting began with an invocation prayer by Longbe Meru, ex-MLA and advisor after which he formally handed over President’s file to Azu Newmai, president ZPO and ex-MLA.
The next general session of ZPO shall be held in the month of March 2011, where every Zeliang villages under Peren district are informed to send member – smaller village –1 member and bigger villages – 2 members as representatives to ZPO. Further the member’s present thanked Kielu Ndang, finance secretary and ex-MLA for hosting the executives.
Gp capt B. Janardhanan bade farewell
DIMAPUR: Gp capt B. Janardhanan, principal, Sainik School Punglwa would take over the helm of Sainik School Kazhakootam (Kerala) as Principal w.e.f November 22. Janardhanan had served Sainik School Punglwa for a period of two and a half years. The officer was given a befitting farewell by way of a customary dining out organized at Capt Kenguruse Cadets’ Mess on November 17. All staff members and cadets were present for the occasion.
Kyong Students’ Union assembly session
DIMAPUR: Kyong Students’ Union Assembly Secretariat would be organizing its 3rd assembly session scheduled on November 23 at LTC Hall Wokha town. All federating units of KSU have been informed to attend the assembly. Further, the units have been requested to put up agendas officially in their respective union writing pad and submit it to the assembly secretariat before commencement of the before 9:30am; after which no agendas would be entertained, added KSU.

1 held for collecting tax
DIMAPUR, NOV 18 (NPN): One person was arrested by Dimapur police from Ghorapatti area on Thursday morning while he was collecting illegal taxation from trucks in the name of Deopani Sand Suppliers Union Association (DSSA) and Assam Sand Suppliers Union (ASSU). The accused was later identified as Akai Achumi. (Staff Reporter)
ANTA picnic cum election ends in conflict
DIMAPUR, NOV 18 (NPN): The annual picnic and election of All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) Thursday ended up on a sour note when the ballot papers of their election commission went missing and some association officials refused to carry out the annual audit. According to sources, the picnic which was held at T L Angami Park nearly ended up with physical fight if not for the timely intervention of police personnel. (Staff Reporter)
