As the crucial and the most sensitive second phase census 2011 is drawing to a close with massive population enumeration to be carried out, a district level training for charge officers and census functionaries was held at Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall, Mokokchung Thursday.
With the completion of first phase census where house listing and housing census were held, the enumeration of population will be carried out during February-March 2011 where each person will be enumerated and his/her individual particulars collected.
The day long training to charge officers and other census functionaries was conducted by officials from the directorate of census, Nagaland, Kohima led by its director, Hekali Zhimomi.
Hekali Zhimomi briefed the trainees on important issues related to the second phase census operation.
She emphasized on importance of holding local meeting by the charge officers in their blocks and asked them to establish rapport with the people who are to be enumerated.
She said community monitoring would be conducted in case census functionaries find hard in tackling local issues during enumeration.
Saying that a number of places have been identified as sensitive areas, Hekali alerted charge officers to give due attention to these places.
Expressing confidence on officers involved in the census operation under the able leadership of Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, Lithrongla G. Chishi, director census urged them to be well versed with the census rules.
