‘All Souls Day’ social work

DIMAPUR: In commemoration of ‘All Souls Day’ on November 2, the Catholic Church (SFS Church) Kohima town is organising a mass social work at Kohima common cemetery near BSF Camp, on October 30, 9.30 am. The Church has invited all those with goodwill and differences irrespective of religion and denomination, to join in cleaning around the tombs of friends, relatives and strangers. ‘All Souls Day’ celebration would be held at the Common Cemetery on November 2, 2.30pm with celebration of Holy Eucharist and blessing of the tombs where people were laid to rest.
FIAC Mokokchung tours Assam Agriculture University

DIMAPUR: Farmers Information and Advisory Centre (FIAC) Ongpangkong South Block ATMA Mokokchung organized an exposure tour to Assam Agriculture University (AAU) Jorhat for farmers of seven villages under the block from October 21 and 22 to expose local farmers to new agricultural technologies advocated by the University.
On October 21, farmers were taken to AAU campus and visited biofertilizer unit, AICRP on forage crops, tea processing unit, horticulture farm and fishery unit and interacted with scientist’s in-charge of the units. On the following day, farmers visited Tsurangkulem farm at Longnak, a farm school under FIAC Mangkolemba block.
The farmers were also taken around Citrus, Cashewnut, Litchi, Arecanut orchards where they interacted with the farm owner. Altogether 17 including three block technology team members took part in the exposure tour.
Delegates for CPA conference

DIMAPUR: Nagaland speaker, Kiyanelie Peseyie has nominated MLAs Deo Nukhu and Vikho-o Yhoshu as official delegates from CPA Nagaland Branch to attend the 4th India and Asia Regions Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) conference to be held at Raipur, Chhattisgarh from October 25 to 29. According to an official bulletin, delegates from Nagaland will also be participating in the plenary session where issues on terrorism and Naxalism, food security and co-operation at the regional level and role and responsibilities of parliamentarians would be deliberated.

Workshop on vigilance awareness

DIMAPUR: In connection with the observation of Vigilance Awareness Week, a workshop is underway from October 25 at the conference hall of Accountant General (audit) Kohima. AG Kohima senior audit officer has informed that the workshop would continue with programme on general establishment on October 26, participatory audit on October 27, pension on October 28 and on GPF on October 29.

NPCC appoint members

DIMAPUR: Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee has appointed its members as general secretaries and chairman of committees with immediate effect. According to NPCC president, S.I Jamir, Medokul, Mghato Achumi and Vaprumu Demo have been appointed as general secretaries, Dr. K. Hoshi as chairman of the media cell and R. Paphino as chairman, CSS, monitoring committee.

‘Children festival’ at Don Bosco Tesophenyu

KOHIMA: The department of art and culture in collaboration with NEZCC Dimapur is organizing ‘Children festival’ under the theme “Spring buds” at Don Bosco Tesophenyu village, Tseminyu on October 28. The program would be graced by Ahola Those, ADC Tseminyu.

ACCC Tseminyu executive meet

KOHIMA: The 12th Tseminyu ACCC executive meting has been convened on October 29, 11am at town hall with senior leaders for induction of new office bearers. All respective units have been requested to send at least two representatives to attend the meeting.

LSU executive meeting

KOHIMA: Lazami Students Union (LSU) has convened an executive meeting on October 30, 9am at the residence of Axi Phucho, Naga Bazar Colony Kohima. All executives, unit representatives, advisors, former office bearers and elders have been requested to attend the meeting.
