Science congress in Phek
DIMAPUR: Nagaland institute of health environment and social welfare Kohima and Phek organising committee is organising the 18th state level children science congress at Phek town on October 26 under the theme ‘Land resources, save for prosperity and use for prosperity’. Parliamentary secretary, social welfare and women development, Chotisuh Sazo would grace the occasion as chief guest and deputy commissioner, Phek, Mikha Lomi as guest of honour.
JSU general meet
KOHIMA: The 2nd general body meeting of Jakhama Students Union (JSU) would be held on November 6, 10am at village Panchayat hall. All executive members, students, seniors and well wishers have been informed to attend the meeting.
Sumi & Rengma Hoho co-ordination meeting
DIMAPUR: Sumi hoho and Rengma hoho had a co-ordination meeting on October 22 at Tulovi village and resolved to strengthen age old cordial relation among Sumis and Rengmas and to continue welfare initiatives among the two tribes and further encourage the same among the Nagas. In a press release, Sumi hoho vice president H. Kashito Yepthomi and Rengma hoho president Kegwanye Lorin also extended support to FNR in the present peace and reconciliation mission.
Nagaland BJP fetes IDC&R awardee
DIMAPUR: Nagaland BJP unit has feted M.Chuba Ao for his achievement and the recognition by the international development consultancy and research foundation (IDC&R) Coimbator on October 17.
TBC to celebrate golden jubilee
DIMAPUR: Taknyu Baptist church (TBC) will be celebrating golden jubilee from December 17-19 at Taknyu village Baptist Church, Tuensang district under the theme “Like an eagle and brought you here to me” with associate executive secretary CBLT, L.Ongmang, Treasurer CBLT Tuensang Z. Sanchu, and Pastor TTBC, H. Sangkap as the main speakers. Taknyu village has meanwhile welcomed Churches under CBLT, neighbouring villages, and citizens of Taknyu village to partake in the golden jubilee celebration.
31 A/C Akuluto NPF youth wing condoles
DIMAPUR: 31 A/C Akuluto NPF youth wing has mourned the demise of its executive member Ghukhato Chishi of Phishumi on October 25. The party also conveyed condolences to the bereaved families and relatives.
KSU, PCC emergency meeting
DIMAPUR: Kyong students’ union public college of commerce (KSU, PCC) has informed that it will hold an emergency meeting on October 26 at the college campus at 11am. All Kyong students of PCC have been directed to attend the meeting without fail.
ATC Kuhuboto inform landowners
DIMAPUR: Ad-hoc Town Committee (ATC) Kuhuboto has informed all landowners/site holders at H. Khekiho Zhimomi colony Kuhuboto to start construction of houses from November 2010 onwards. The ATC vice chairman Inaho Sukhalu stated in a press release that failure to comply with this notice would result in cancellation of permit.
Seminar on ‘positive values of Lotha’
DIMAPUR: Dongphi Chokae Okho (DCO) will be organizing a seminar on ‘Positive values of Lotha’ on October 30, 10 am at Lotha Hoho Ki, Dimapur. Agriculture minister Dr. Chumben Murry, Rt. Col. S. Rengma, DMC advisor Tokheli Kikon, former general secretary Naga Hoho Dr. John and ETC Jorhat Prof. Dr. Ezamo Murry would be the resource persons at the programme.
GMS PWD colony Kohima upgradation
DIMAPUR: Government Middle School (GMS) PWD colony Kohima would be officially upgraded to Government High School at an inaugural programme being organized on October 28, 9 am with school education commissioner and secretary Mhathung Kithan as chief guest. All members of PWD Panchayat, elders and GBs of PWD colony have been requested to attend the programme.
PWUK consultative meet
DIMAPUR: A consultative meeting of newly elected officials of Phekmi Welfare Union Kohima (PWUK) with minister for Health and family welfare, Nagaland Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu has been convened on November 28, 4.30 pm at the official residence of H and FW minister. All PWUK officials have been informed to attend the meet.
Govt polytechnic Kohima students informed
KOHIMA: Government Polytechnic Kohima has informed that the odd term semester regular examination would commence from December 7. All students have been requested fill the exam form on October 28 and 29 during office hours at the Government Polytechnic Kohima and no other dates would be entertained later.
Daklane Panchayat social work
KOHIMA: Daklane Panchayat is organizing a social work on October 27. The members would repair PWD road from NH 61 junction leading to Daklane – Naga Hospital Authority road. The drive has been taken up to given some relief to the vehicular commuters till government provide funds to repair the dilapidated road, stated a release from Daklane Panchayat. The Panchayat council has meanwhile decided to ban vehicular movement on October 27 not to ruin the work which would be in progress. The commuters have been requested to adhere to the Daklane Panchayat order in the interest of Kohima town denizens.
CAN dedication service
DIMAPUR: A dedication program of new office bearers of Catholic Association of Nagaland (CAN) for the term 2010-13 would be held on October 29, 4 pm at SFS Hall (C.P.C), Kohima. The office bearers of old and new team, president and secretary of NCWA, NCYM, tribal organisation and senior Catholic leaders under the Diocese of Kohima have been requested to attend the dedication program. Rev. Fr. Carlous, Vicar General, Diocese of Kohima would dedicate the new team of office bearers. NACRYF seminar on youth leadership
DIMAPUR: Northern Angami Christian Revival Youth Fellowship (NACRYF) is organizing a seminar on youth leadership under the theme “Come let us rebuild. Neh 2:17” from October 28 to 31 at Angami Christian Revival Council of Church (ARCC) Mission Centre, Riileizou, Kohima. The resource persons would be Rev. Dr. DL Sanchu, executive secretary ACRCC, Rev. Rachiilie Vihienuo, pastor, Union Baptist Church (UBC), Dr. Keyiekhrie Kire, IFS, chief conservator of forest, Northern Territorial Circle, and Dr. Neiphi Kire, additional director, directorate of health and family welfare, Kohima. All the unit CYE office bearers have been requested to arrive at the venue on October 28, 3 pm.
National Integration Camp underway
DIMAPUR: National Integration Camp is being organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra, Tuensang from October 23 to 29. Around 120 youth from the states of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Manipur and Nagaland are participating in the ongoing camp.
