In view of the state government’s declaration of 2010 as ‘Year of Entrepreurs’, VDB union RD Block Kohima headed by BDO Kohima P. Koza, visited Kathmandu, Nepal on an educational tour from October 11-17.
According to union publicity secretary Zhavikuolie, the tour team observed that the vast foothill area of the region was covered with paddy and sugarcane cultivation, with tractors as the main machinery for both cultivation and transportation.
The team also learnt that double cropping was normally adopted and the population was scattered with the people living in smaller groups rather than forming big villages. Meanwhile, the VDB union has thanked RD director, former project director Kohima for extending financial assistance; DC Kohima for movement permit; the incumbent project director; union president Vi-u Belho; and BDO Kohima for their contributions towards the team during the trip.
The tour team consisted of 64 members from 15 villages including VCC, VDB secretary, women secretary and office staff.
