One day multidisciplinary training programme on “winter vegetables and crops” was conducted by KVK Dimapur on October 23 at Dhansiripar village. In the programme, James Kikon, SMS soil science spoke on nutrient management for better yield and good soil health, Ch. Roben Singh, SMS agronomy stressed on package and practices of mustard and winter maize, Kolom Rabi, SMS plant breeding also trained the participants on seed production and management of rapeseed and mustard and winter maize also. H.D Singh, SMS horticulture emphasized on cultivation of high value low volume crop like Broccoli. A practical demonstration on raising of nursery for cole crops was also conducted in the farmers field.
Dr. Ebibeni Ngullie, SMS animal science discussed on the importance of parasitic diseases of domestic animals and birds, its treatment and control. The training programme concluded with a technical discussion and feedback from the farmers. Altogether 25 participants attended the training and seeds like broccoli, mustard, winter maize and cabbage were distributed by officials of KVK to the farmers.
