Consultative meet to draft biodiversity rules

A Consultative meeting on Draft Nagaland Biodiversity Rules 2010 organized by expert committee for drafting Nagaland Biodiversity Rules was held on October 26 at Longkumer Kilem, Mokokchung with stakeholders from three districts; Mokokchung, Zunheboto and Wokha.
According to the expert committee, the Nagaland Biodiversity Rules was framed in the local context taking into consideration the customary laws and practices governing the Biodiversity, traditional knowledge and land tenure system.
The meeting was convened to get feedback from the stakeholders, which would be considered for inclusion, if found relevant, in Nagaland Biodiversity Rules 2010. The meeting was attended by AOC Zunheboto, SDO (C) Mokokchung, SP Mokokchung, ADC Pughoboto, representatives from Dobashi Mokokchung, Watsu Mungdang, Ao Senden, MMC, and lecturers from FAC and research scholars from Nagaland University.
