With the aim to provide doorstep treatment to the ailing animals and preventive vaccination, 14 Mobile Field Veterinary Hospital (MFVH) under the aegis of HQ 3 Corps conducted a free Veterinary Camp at Medziphema on October 25.
Villagers in large numbers brought their livestock and poultry to be administered free vaccines and medicines, and pregnancy diagnosis of a few cattle was done while guidance and queries of farmers about livestock management and feeding were also answered. More than 700 livestock and poultry were treated by commanding officer 14 MFVH and his team of veterinary assistants.
Medicines were distributed free of cost and animals were also vaccinated against various infectious diseases prevalent in the area.
Similar camp was organized by 14 MFVH in Feb 2010 at the same location. GBs of the village thanked the Army for organizing such camp in the village again.
3 Corps has been helping several other villages under ‘OP Sadbhavana’.
Dr. MK Patra from ICAR Centre and Dr. Chandan Raj Khown director Mithun Research Centre were also present at the camp. Response of the villagers was appreciated by Medziphema Town GB Union president Abeilie and former VCC Dosau.
