KSSU first executive meeting
KOHIMA: Kohima Sumi Students Union (KSSU) has convened its first executive meeting along with advisors on October 29 at 2pm at its banker’s residence, Mana, Inspector Excise at Para Medical near St. John School.
ENSUK meeting in Kohima
KOHIMA: Eastern Naga Students Union Kohima (ENSUK) has convened a meeting on October 30 at 10.30am at DUDA guest house. ENSUK requested all pastors and pastress of the Eastern Naga of Kohima, ENSUK, presidents and general secretaries of federating units and sub-ordinate bodies to attend the meeting.
NCSU to participate in social work
KOHIMA: Nagaland Contractors and Suppliers Union (NCSU) head office has requested all office bearers and action committee and executive members to reach the head office on October 30 at 6am sharp for a joint social work with KMC and PWD (NH) division Kohima for road repair from TCP gate to north police station junction Kohima town.
DIS Dimapur informs adhoc employees
DIMAPUR: Deputy inspector of schools (DIS) Dimapur has informed all adhoc employees under DIS Dimapur to submit all necessary documents such as appointment order, latest service extension order/ transfer order and personal application for extension of service for the year 2011 latest by November 20. Any application for extension will not be entertained after the expiry of last date, added DIS.
SSU, PCC freshers’ meet
DIMAPUR: Sumi students’ union, Public College of commerce (SSU, PCC) has informed that ‘freshers meet cum social parting’ will be held on October 30 at Noune resort, new Showuba. All Sumi students of PCC have been informed to reach college campus at 6 am.
SJC inform repeaters
DIMAPUR: St. John College (SJC), Dimapur has informed its repeater students to fill in examination forms from November 1 to 6 for the forthcoming university examination 2011 and to submit original mark sheet, attested photo copy of admit card of last examination, registration card and HSLC admit card.
AGBCN postpones meet
DIMAPUR: Association of the Gorkha Baptist churches Nagaland (AGBCN), Singrijan village, Dimapur has informed all executive council members that council meeting scheduled for October 30 has been postponed to December 11 due to unavoidable circumstances.
DCC Dimapur felicitation programme

National handloom expo in Dimapur
DIMAPUR: Nagaland Handloom and Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd. Dimapur (NHHDC) is organizing national handloom expo in Dimapur town from November 27 to December 11, sponsored by office of the Development Commissioner (Handloom), Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India, New Delhi. Interested societies, SHG, NGOs, apex co-operative societies have been requested to submit their application to the Project Cell, NHHDC Ltd, Half Nagarjan, Dimapur for participation on or before November 22 during the office hour. NHHDC managing director, Hokiye Yeputhomi has informed that DA would be provided per stall per day to the participants.
‘Festival of hope’ from November 5
DIMAPUR: ‘Festival of Hope’ 2010, organized by various pastors and Churches in Dimapur would be held from November 5 to 9, 4 pm at DDSC Stadium, Dimapur with Rev. Tom Elie, president of Oasis World Ministries, USA as the main speaker. There would also be a seminar for pastors and Church leaders on November 5 and 6, 10 am at DABA, Khermahal, and a Women’s Conference on November 8, 9 am at Town Baptist Church, Dimapur. No registration fee is required and all have been invited.

Clarification on LDA interview
DIMAPUR: Personnel and administrative reforms department (P&AR) has directed candidates selected for interview for directorate LDA-cum-computer assistant with roll numbers 3477, 6053, 5560, 3496 and 6020 to appear for interview in the treasuries & accounts department on November 8 and not as published earlier on October 22, stated an official bulliten.
Shortage of teachers in Tizu area
DIMAPUR: The village education committee of Tizu area comprising of 11 villages toured Tizu area per the government instruction. The committee while touring the villages found shortages of teachers in many schools where they observed that quality education could not be given to students due to lack of teachers. The committee has appealed the government to appoint teachers and solve the grievances faced by the students of the area.
NNC clarifies on termination order
DIMAPUR: NNC Sumi region has clarified that termination of Kakheho (Alex) which was published in local dailies. NNC Sumi region president stated that termination was due to misunderstanding within the executive of the region and that its member Kakheho was not terminated but is continuing his service to the region for the NNC and Naga nation in general.
CPO consultative meeting
DIMAPUR: Chakhesang public organization (CPO) has convened an consultative meeting on October 30, 10 am at DUDA, rest house, Kohima. All the present and former legislators, frontal organizations, public leaders, church leaders, area presidents and executive members under Chakhesang public organization have been requested to attend the meeting.
DVC expels bootlegger
DIMAPUR: Diphupar village council (DVC), in a joint meeting with Diphupar Naga youth organization (DNYO) and Diphupar Naga students’ union (DNSU) have expelled Mughali Kiba of Kivukhu village for selling alcohol, ignoring Diphupar village jurisdiction’s resolution and repeated violation of warning. DVC has further clarified on report published on October 26 by stating that Mughali Kiba belonged to Kivukhu village and not as published.
Natural calamity relief fund Tuensang
DIMAPUR: Additional deputy commissioner Tuensang, Sotsula has informed that the last payment of natural calamity relief fund (NCRF) for the period 2009-10 in respect of Tuensang district was October 29. Beneficiaries who are listed and have not yet collected have been asked to collect from DC office Tuensang on any working day during office hour on or before October 29
PWC freshers’ day
DIMAPUR: The 19th freshers’ social and annual function of Pranabananda Women’s College would be held on October 30, 10.30 am at its college premises. The programme will be graced by His Excellency, Governor of Nagaland, Nikhil Kumar as chief guest and MLA Hewoto Awomi as guest of honour and K. N. Ngullie, additional commissioner, as special guest.
Security guards for NU
DIMAPUR: Applications forms for ex-servicemen pensioners from defence forces have been invited for engagement as security guards on fixed pay of `5336/- pm for Nagaland University HQ Lumami and other campuses. Applicants should not be above 52 years of age. Interview would be conducted after two weeks at NU Lumami. NETSA condoles
DIMAPUR: Nagaland evaluation technical service association (NETSA) has mourned the demise of deputy director of evaluation, Peter Ovung on October 23. NETSA also conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members.
YTC clarifies
DIMAPUR: Yimchungru tribal council (YTC) has clarified on the press release published on October 18 that the third paragraph should read as “from Saramati to Herupong” instead of “Khungkha/Hahumiti to Sheyeru”.
BJP Nagaland state unit congratulates
DIMAPUR: Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) Nagaland state unit has congratulated M Chuba Ao, state president for receiving the best NGO/Social worker award 2010 on October 17 at Combatore, Tamil Nadu. The award was awarded by the international development consultancy and research foundation based on report received out of 1500 (Fifteen hundred) NGO working for upliftment of society.
