‘Users Collective’ to raise issues of drug users

A new union ‘Users Collective’ was formed at a meeting on October 24 at Town Hall Dimapur. Formation, nomenclature, selection of interim body members and work plans were few the agendas that were discussed in the meeting.
A press release issued by ‘Users’ collective’ stated that the new body was formed in the common interest of drug users with no bar (current user or recovering), to raise voices/issues of drug user and to create opportunities for an individual through collective development.
At the meeting, the house resolved to appoint one convener and six steering committee members for interim body, to continue with area representatives as before and to appoint new area representative wherever there was vacancy.
The house also resolved to collect one time membership fee of `10 and above, seven interim body members were selected including the convener. Altogether 32 area representatives were selected.
The next meeting of ‘Users Collective’ interim body members and area representatives would be held on November 14.
