SBI Baghty conducts loan recovery drive

The State Bank of India, Baghty branch on Wednesday launched loan recovery drive of the 84 piggery loan defaulters which was started at Lakhuti village under Wokha district on October 27.
Few thousands of rupees were recovered from the defaulters during the recovery drive.
Later in a meeting held with the defaulting borrowers, village council & GBs, & villagers at Lakhuti, Pratap Ch. Das Branch Manager of SBI Baghty Branch emphasized on the need to repay the debts since the bank is running heavy loss because of the piggery loan availed by the villagers in 2006 and their failure in repaying it.
Yanasao Kikon, chairman, Pensioner’s Association Baghty unit, exhorted the gathering to maintain good relation with the bank. He thanked the bank for rendering indispensable service to the local rural people specially the pensioners. He emphasized the positives of keeping good relation with the Bank and urged the defaulters to repay the loan.
P. Mhonthung Yanthan, village chairman chaired the meeting. Gifts were also distributed to the people who have already repaid their defaulting loan.
