Maj. Gen. JP Nehra in state to review security

Officiating director general of Assam Rifles Maj Gen J P Nehra, AVSM is on two day tour to review the security situation in the state.
Maj Gen J P Nehra AVSM was accompanied by his wife Nirmala Nehra, officiating president, ARWWA, stated a defence release.
At his arrival on October 29 at Assam Rifles Helipad, Maj Gen J P Nehra a AVSM and his wife were accorded traditional welcome by Maj Gen Sandeep Singh, SM, VSM and his wife Yashmi Singh, president, ARWWA, IGAR (N).
Thereafter, Major General J P Nehra, AVSM was briefed on the security situation of the state by Maj Gen Sandeep Singh, SM, VSM.
Maj Gen J P Nehra, AVSM in his speech appreciated all officers, JCO’s and jawans of Assam Rifles for their contribution to maintain peace and harmony in the state.
He further congratulated the government officials of Nagaland, NGO’s, media personnel, Church and all GB’s of the villages for extending their support and co-operation to the security force in carrying out and in maintaining law and order for everlasting peace.
He also encouraged all ranks and file to live up to the excellence tradition of the force image of “Sentinels of the North East”.
During his two day visit to the state, the general officer is scheduled to meet His Excellency, Governor of Nagaland, Nikhil Kumar, GOC-3 Corps and Chairman CFMG, and depart for Dimapur on October 31.
