NPBCA executive committee meeting
DIMAPUR: The Nagaland Police Baptist Churches Association (NPBCA) executive meeting has been fixed from November 9-10 at NPBCA mission compound at 5pm. All respective executive members under the establishment of NPBCA have been requested to attend the meeting positively.
SKK emergency meeting
DIMAPUR: An emergency meeting of All Sumi Students’ Union (SKK) 45th general conference organizing committee and executive members of SKK has been convened on November 2, 10 am at the residence of its convener, Zheito Chophy at Sematila, Dimapur. All members have been requested to attend the meeting.
NCSU inform contractors
DIMAPUR: Nagaland contractors & suppliers’ union (NCSU), Dimapur district has informed all concerned especially contractors that any contract or supply works within Dimapur district without open tender as per government order vide No.BUD/8-7/95-96 dt. Kohima, the 4th Oct/95 has been restricted. In a press release, NCSU, Dimapur district president W. Khape and general secretary K. Imtiwati cautioned that NCSU Dimapur unit action committee would maintain vigilance and would apply for RTI incase of any department violating the government standing order.
HMHP meeting
DIMAPUR: Healing ministry for handicapped people (HMHP) has convened a executive and ministry meeting on October 30, 4pm at the residence of pastor JB Gurung, H/no 26, Lingrijan for discussion on upcoming advance Christmas programme at Dimapur railway station. All board members and ministry members have been requested to attend the meeting.
Dzülha village Christmas feast
DIMAPUR: The uniformed government employees of Dzülha village are jointly hosting a Christmas and New Year celebration from December 23 to January 1 at Baptist Church Dzülha village. All Dzülha citizens and in-laws have been requested and invited to come and share the blessings.
Tuensang DPDB meeting reschedule
DIMAPUR: Monthly district planning and development board (DPDB) meeting for the month of November for Tuensang district has been rescheduled to November 4, 11 am at the conference hall of deputy commissioner Tuensang. All members of the board have been requested to attend the meeting.
TBSU general meeting
DIMAPUR: Tamlu Buhu student union (TBSU) has convened its 6th general meeting on October 30, 10am at the residence of the union’s treasurer, B Phongshak, ex-minister, Purana bazaar. All members and students have been requested to attend the meeting.
NNC clarifies on termination
DIMAPUR: Central executive council members of NNC has clarified that it had not accepted Kakheho/Alex to rejoin his services as published in local dailies on October 29 for involving in anti-social activities. The “central authority” has asked president of Sumi Region under whose authority Kakheho /Alex was re-appointed. Secretary CECM, NNC information and publicity wing stated that “continuing of his service” was completely un-authorized and illegal as he had been terminated “permanently”.
Mount Olive College freshers’ day
KOHIMA: 18th annual freshers cum parting social of Mount Olive College will take place on October 30 at 11am at Sumi Baptist Church Daklane Kohima with Himato Zhimomi, IFS commissioner and secretary planning and coordination, tourism and art and culture as chief guest.
Appointed booth level officers informed
KOHIMA: Appointed booth level officers (BLO) who have not reported on October 28 and 29 have been directed to report to electoral registration officer, Kohima on October 30 for a few latest instructions by election commission of India.
Application forms for B.Ed
DIMAPUR: District education officer (DEO) Zunheboto has informed all the deputy inspector of schools, principal government higher secondary schools and headmaster of government high schools to collect the application forms for undergoing B.Ed training 2010-11 from undersigned office on November 2 and submit with relevant educational qualification on or before November 4.
SSA, DMA Longleng conducts training
DIMAPUR: Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, district mission authority (SSA, DMA) conducted training on district information system for education (DISE) 2010-11 on October 22 at EBRC hall with resource persons from SMA, system analysis Sentimoa Longchar, and assistant programmer Paul. DMA has meanwhile expressed gratitude to PBCA for providing the guest house to all the participants.
NAS parents’ day cum annual function
DIMAPUR: Nagaland Adventist school (NAS) celebrated its 4th parents’ day cum school annual function on October 28 on the theme ‘Together we build’. Asono Ndang, DEO Dimapur was the chief guest, while Pr Moses A Shimray, director and Pr David Das, secretary cum treasurer of Seventh Day Adventist, Nagaland were among the special guests.
GPSUK inter polytechnic sports meet
DIMAPUR: All Nagaland 3rd inter polytechnic sports meet cum cultural show would be held on November 2 to 4 at IG stadium Kohima. Daisy Mezhur, secretary, Nagaland state social welfare board would be the chief guest for the opening ceremony, while ER Keppen Rengma, director, commerce & industry, Nagaland, Kohima would be the guest of honour for the closing ceremony.
Kithga citizens cleanliness drive
DIMAPUR: Kithagha citizen dawn to dusk cleanliness drive would be held on November 2 at Nsunyu, Chunlikha and Likhwenchu villages. The three village councils have requested all Kithagha citizens residing in different parts of state to join in the cleanliness drive for a better and healthy environment in the village. Meanwhile, the village vision cell (VVC) would be constituted on the same day at 6 pm at Nsunyu village panchayat hall. All the Kithagha citizens have been requested to attend the consultative meeting.
DEO Kohima on B.Ed traning
DIMAPUR: District education officer (DEO) Kohima has informed all DIS/Principal/Headmaster of GHSS/GHS under Kohima district to forward the names of deserving candidates who have secured 45% and above at BA, MA and completed 3years continuous service as graduate teachers under their schools for undergoing B. Ed training for 2011 session. Application forms could be obtained from the office of DEO Kohima during office hour with November 12 as the last date for submission of application form to DEO Kohima.
PSC to resume inspection in Longleng
DIMAPUR: Phom students’ conference (PSC) has informed all respective contractors and government officials that it will be resuming routine inspection on all developmental activities and staff performance under Longleng district w.e.f November 1st week.
In a press release, PSC general secretary, Shahsha Phom has asked for co-operation for smooth and early completion of all ongoing developmental activities, and has further informed all PSC executive councils and union assembly to reach office headquarter Longleng by November first week.
Meanwhile, PSC has extended gratitude to parliamentary secretary RD & REPA and former PSC president, Pangnyu Phom for contributing rupees one lakh for the upcoming free coaching classes for class-X that would be organised and sponsored by PSC.
DIMAPUR: Post graduate Sumi students’ union, Nagaland university campus Kohima (PGSSU, NUCK) has congratulated its president Bokavi Achumi on being elected as president of Kohima Sumi students’ union for the tenure 2010-12.
Parliamentarians tour Japan
Dimapur: A team of parliamentarians who were on a study tour to Japan returned to the state capital on October 28. According to secretary to government, N. Benjamin Newmai, the parliamentary tour was conducted by the department of parliamentary affairs as a regular feature of its activities in implementing the recommendation of All India Whips Conference.
The team included: minister for parliamentary affairs, T.R. Zeliang; minister for agriculture, Dr. Chumben Murry; minister for health and family welfare, Khuzulezo Neinuo; parliamentary secretary IPR, Rikimong Tohanba; chairman NIDC, MLA Nuklutoshi Longkumer; chairman NHHDC, MLA Shetoyi Sema; advisor NBDA, MLA Temjen Jamir and secretary parliamentary affairs, N. Benjamin Newmai. The team during their tour also visited Hong Kong and Thailand.
‘Naga journey for peace'
DIMAPUR: 'The Naga journey for peace', initiated by the forum of Nagas and Indian civil society organizations started Friday at All Saints' Campus, Bangalore. The programme would conclude on October 30 with various events including sales of arts and crafts, Naga cultural programme, Naga music with well known choirs from Bangalore, followed by panel discussion on Indo-Naga peace process at Bishop Cottons Boys Auditorium, St. Marks Road. The panelist would include leaders of Naga civil society, Nagaland.
Monyakshu VGS rising day
DIMAPUR: Monyakshu village Guard will celebrate its 50th Rising Day from November 1 to 3 at Monyakshu village with advisor village guard, DBs & GBs Affair, Nagaland Kejong Chang, as chief guest and parliamentary secretary youth resource & sports and land revenue, Nagaland Naiba Konyak as guest of honour.
Rev. Yeangphoang, evangelist cum literature secretary Konyak Baptist Church association, Mon would be the speaker.
DC Mon Dinesh Kumar, IAS, commandant VG, Tuensang and deputy commandant VG, Mon would also address the function, stated an official bulletin.
‘Nagas Got Talent’ grand finale today
DIMAPUR: Stage is all set for Pheto Music Association (PMA) first season of ‘Nagas Got Talent’ which will be held on October 30 at Dimapur Club at 5pm with parliamentary secretary of industry and commerce Dr K.C Nihoshe as chief guest and project director music task force, Gugs Chishi as guest of honour.
The ultimate winners for this mega event will walk away with a prize money of Rs.2 lakh cheque and Rs.1 lakh cheque in group category.
Apart from prize money special promotional offer for video project for the winners and the finalist in the future.
PMA has invited all relatives and friends of the finalists, sponsors of the events and medias in the state and outside to come and witness the grand finale.
‘Tech-Aura’ exhibition
DIMAPUR: School of Engineering & Technology, Dimapur would be organising ‘Tech-Aura’ an exhibition on the theme ‘Bridging the gap’ from November 10 to 13.
According to an official bulletin, the exhibition would have participants from engineering colleges from the north eastern states and other states of the country.
The exhibits would include latest state-of-the-art in technology of the age of information and technology.
The exhibition is hosted by the School of Engineering & Technology the first of its kind since its establishment by Nagaland University in 2007 on October 29 under the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
The institute is currently imparting degree courses in B. Tech in Biotechnology, B. Tech in Computer Science, B. Tech in Information Technology, B. Tech in Electronics & Communication and B. Tech in Agricultural Engineering & Technology.
Traffic regulation for Mkg
DIMAPUR: Taking into consideration the traffic congestion in Mokokchung main town area with limited scope for extension of the road and to streamline the traffic congestion DC Mokokchung Lithrongla G. Chishi has imposed traffic regulations to be implemented within the jurisdiction of Mokokchung Municipal Council w.e.f November 1.
According to an official bulletin, as per the traffic regulation, all loading and unloading of all commercial goods vehicles are to be completed by 7am, all commercial zonal taxis would be shifted to new M.M.C Market Complex cum parking w.e.f November 1. All vehicles parked randomly on the roadside disturbing the free flow of traffic would be penalized and defaulters found committing the offence up to three times shall invite cancellation of the permits.
All commercial buses are to clearly display the route on which they ply for the convenience of public and traffic monitoring and all commercial bus (private) should clearly display bus fare chart inside the bus.
DISE form format for schools
DIMAPUR: Department of education has informed all schools both under the department of school education, Nagaland and ministry of human resource development and under CBSEs and ICEs have been informed to fill up readymade district information system of education (DISE) data capture format by providing accurate and authenticated information.
Training with regard to filling-up of DISE format would be conducted for all schools on November 2, 9:30am for L. Khel Kohima at- EBRC L. Khel Kohima, Viswema at EBRC Viswema, Chiephobozou at EBRC Chiephobozou, Tseminyu at EBRC Tseminyu, Secü Zubza at Council Hall, Secü Zubza and all private schools (Urban) Kohima town under EBRC L. Khel Kohima on November 3 at DC conference hall Kohima. All schools have been informed to submit relevant documents and DISE format duly filled should be signed with official seal after proper verification by the head of the institution and submit to the EBRC and DMA for necessary action.
