Seminar on positive values and qualities of Kyongs

To reflect on positive values and aspects intended to inspire Kyongs to march forward, especially new generation comprising bureaucrats, technocrats. physicians, intellectuals, clergymen and emerging successful business entrepreneurs, Dongphi Chokae Ekho organized a day seminar on positives values and qualities of Kyongs on Saturday at Lotha Ki, DC court junction Dimapur.
Stating that the Kyongs need to change for the better, Dr. Chumben, minister for agriculture urged Kyongs to adapt with the changing world, which has now become a global village.
Stressing on three types of people, he said there are people ignorant of things happening around them, while the second are those who are conscious but indifferent and does nothing about it while the third, he said are those who take initiative in bringing about changes in the society.
He further appreciated the steps taken by Dongphi Chokae Ekho in a bid to discover what Kyongs can do apart from what has been done in the past.
Dr. John termed the Lothas as people with high IQs who are persuasive and persistent with they want to achieve in their life.
Affirming that the Kyongs are hard working, efficient and endowed with so many natural talents, he further encouraged them to make use of the talents and to believe in themselves.
Dr. John further counseled the young Kyong entrepreneurs to be humble in order to succeed in their business.
Colonel S. Rengma (Retd) also emphasized on the positive aspects of Kyong women adding the Kyongs were one of the missing tribes of “God chosen people”.
Terming Kyong women as extraordinary, he said Lotha women does not depend on her husband to be the sole bread earner of the family but are sincere, hardworking endowed with extra ordinary acumen ensuring that the family’s needs and requirements are met.
Affirming that Kyongs believes in the community’s core values and tradition, he said women who uphold values and tradition of the Kyongs will prosper in life.
He further urged Kyong women to at least spare time to introspect and discover the potentials the Kyongs are endowed with leaving aside their daily chores.
Prof Dr. Ezamo Murry, Eastern Theological College, Jorhat who spoke on the positive values of Kyongs in religion, said the Kyongs are brave and pleasant endowed with talents in numerous fields including participation in the political arena as well as in education.
Tokheli Kikon, advisor DMC also spoke on the positive aspects and values of Kyongs.
Earlier the programme began with a prayer by Rev. Zanao Mozhiu pastor LBCD.
Others who spoke on the occasion included Ntsemo Ngullie, Chairman Lotha Hoho Dimapur, advocate Longshi Ezung and others.
It may be noted that such inspiring, intellect awakening seminar initiated by Dongphi Chokae Ekho comprising 19 members from all walks of life was organized for the Kyong community to uplift and advance the society, and to be accustomed to the ever changing environment.
More than 250 people from all walks of lives attended the seminar.
