Parent’s day at Lima Aier school

Home minister, Imkong L. Imchen on Saturday said education was a great communicator consisting of three elements viz. parents, students and the faculty members.
Articulating that it was not necessary that teaching should not only be restricted to communicating and creating a good environment for good education, Imkong who was the chief guest at Lima Aier Higher Secondary School parents day cum felicitation programme, believed that the three elements of teaching would be of significance if merged with a strong association between parents and teachers.
Lima Aier Higher Secondary School (LAHSS), Dimapur, named after late Lima Aier (Rtd.) IAS, was established 19 years ago.
Lima Aier Higher Secondary School, a well known school built on the principle of ‘Reverence to God is learning’ celebrated its annual parent’s day cum felicitation at the school’s premises on Saturday.
Present at the function were Yajen Aier, the school’s first managing board chairman, O Alem, director general, prison, home guard & civil defence, and Rev. Alemmeren, a missionary from Hong Kong, host of GB’s as well as parents and well-wishers. The programme was followed by felicitations of toppers and distinction holders of 2010 HLSC examination.
The two toppers from the school in HLSC 2010, Puspha Kumari top 6 and Priya Chetri top 45 were given certificates and mementos each.
L. Imkong Imchen awarded Puspha Kumari `10000 and `50000 to the school.
DC Dimapur, Maongwati also crooned the gathering with a special number titled “I know a man who can”.
While interacting with media persons after the programme, the home minister when asked on the internal security measures taken by the state government with regard to the rise in extortion scenario in Nagaland said there cannot be a specific security arrangement owing to various complexities.
In order to make things easier, the minister appealed the people to come out and report the matter to the administration in-charge or the police without much hesitation.
