With rapid urbanization open space for relaxing and physical exercise and jogging has become rare in Dimapur. Of the few green spaces for morning joggers and sports lovers is the Dimapur Higher Secondary School Ground, Nagarjan where many early risers come and exercise in the morning.
In this ground all source of games including football, cricket, sepaktakraw, volleyball, basketball, etc. are practiced by the young while the older health conscious citizens take a leisurely walk.
Eco-Club in a press note said as the pressure increased, littering of this environment has become a concern and therefore with the realization eco-club members on October 30 conducted social work and cleaned up the litter, painted the tree stumps, and put up posters which read ‘Do not litter-keep your environment clean’, ‘This ground is yours keep it clean’, ‘Be conscious of your surroundings –the dirt, the smell, the sight’, ‘Practice clean habits-do not throw garbage here and there, use waste bins, leave behind a clean environment after your picnic’.
