The district health society Kiphire conducted one day training on “control of blindness” on October 29 at Hopongkyu memorial hall. Altogether 85 ASHAs attended the training program.
The resource persons were Dr. I. Sungit Jamir, CMO, Dr. Khriesi, Dy. CMO and Tsiatsiivi, district program officer for DAPCU.
The CMO in his speech stressed on the importance of ASHA’s and their responsibility at the grass root level.
Dy. CMO talked on the ‘Control of blindness’ with its theme “Reaching the doorstep of the people to restore sight”.
A practical session was also conducted by the ophthalmic assistant of the District hospital on “How to detect eye defects”.
The program concluded with distribution of radio sets, First Aid and IEC materials to the ASHA’s.
