GPRN/ NSCN Yimchungru Region has accused the NSCN (I-M) of violating the ‘Covenant of Reconciliation’ by way of arresting its activists on October 31 at Chomi village at around 4: 30 am. According to ‘Capt. (Retd)’ S. Aso Yimchungru, chairman Yimchungru Region GPRN/NSCN, based on mutual understanding between the two NSCN factions, the village council has allowed them to stay separately in various colonies in the village. He, however, said that the NSCN (I-M) arrested GPRN/NSCN cadres early Sunday morning, totally ignoring the process of peace and reconciliation. He said the NSCN (I-M) also clearly violated the ENPO resolution to cease any kind of hostility among the various groups within its jurisdiction. The GPRN/NSCN Yimchungru Region said it would stand firm against the incident, if the seized weapons were not returned. It has asked the Naga Hoho, ENPO, FNR and all right thinking Nagas to ponder over the issue. The GPRN/NSCN Yimchungru Region said it would adhere to the resolution made by the FNR, in order to strengthen the common cause of the Naga national movement.
