All Nagaland School Teachers’ Association (ANSTA) held its general conference on November 18 at Zonal Council hall Kohima with minister of school education and SCERT Nyeiwang Konyak as chief guest and commissioner & secretary department of school education and SCERT Mhathung Kithan as resource person.
Altogether 16 constituent units and sub-units of ANSTA attended the conference.
Association adopted a three-point resolutions at the conference that included- to expedite the restructuring process of the department for proper implementation; to judiciously implement all central sponsored schemes (CSS) such as mid-day meal, SSA, and RMSA through the departmental officers; and in order to facilitate service convenience of school teachers, an option to be offered for Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS) and a policy to be evolved for the same.
A press release issued by ANSTA general secretary N. Thungchio Shitiri further informed that association also amended its constitution and replaced the posts of finance secretary and information & statistical secretary with vice president and joint secretary respectively. ANSTA further stated there will be two vice presidents and two joint secretaries to discharge duties as assigned; for inclusion of advisory committee member in the executive for proper coordination and smooth functioning of the association activities; and subsequently appointed three advisors.
