: District level one day orientation programme on homeopathy for mother and child care was held at Phek in Chief Medical Office’s (CMO) conference hall on Tuesday.
Deputy commissioner, Phek, Mikha Lomi was the chief guest in the inaugural function. Speaking on the occasion, DC said people need to be serious in the health care sector and learn from the medical practitioners of different systems for better health of the family and children.
He called upon participants to create awareness among the people about the effectiveness of different methods of health care system such as homeopathy etc, stated an official bulletin. While wishing the participants, DC requested them to be attentive and to take the programme seriously in order to cultivate more knowledge from the resource persons.
Dr. Khrielenuo Kechu MO (AYUSH) on her keynote address said India has had the opportunity to the mix the western and the eastern healthcare system- AYUSH which stand for Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoepathy. Resource person for the day-long programme was Prof. Dr. NK Mishra Homoepathic consultant, Guwahati who spoke on the topic “Scope & Potential, Care, Caution and Limitations of Homeopathy in Mother and Child Care” and also on the topic “Homeopathy for mother and child related compliance with success stories”.
Resource person Dr. DK Mero Joint Director (AYUSH) Directorate Health & Family Welfare, Kohima also spoke on the topic “Concept & Avenues of referral between system of medicines with strategies for integration for mother and child care”. The inaugural function was chaired by Phek CMO, Dr. S. Hangsing and vote of thanks pronounced by Deputy CMO, Dr. CW Tungoe.
