: In the run-up to annual Hornbill Festival, the Angami frontal organisations have issued certain guidelines for the smooth functioning of the festival. In a joint statement issued Monday, the Angami Women organisation (AWO), Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) and Angami Students’ Union (ASU) said they have resolved to ban the sale of all foreign liquors at Kisama throughout the festival, i.e. from Dec 1 to 7. However, locally-brewed liquors are allowed in respective “Morungs”, it said. The organisations cautioned that any stall found violating its resolution would be liable to closure of stall. It also resolved that any vehicle found transporting alcohol to Kisama would not be allowed to enter Kisama during the entire festive season. The organisations also requested stalls to sell only those items which were specified in the government order. The frontal bodies also said that they would be compelled to take action on anyone whose conducts were “not pleasing in public eyes.” They also appealed to all visitors to use dustbins, protect public property and maintain civic sense. According to the frontal bodies the guidelines was applicable to all the venues of Hornbill festival.
