Security forces rescues trucker in Manipur

A swift action by the security force led to the safe release of a driver belonging to Nagaland State who was kidnapped by miscreants from Taphou area under Senapati district along the NH-39 on Tuesday.
Police sources said that the driver of truck (NL01G-4433) identified as Raj Kumar Gurung was kidnapped by some suspected militants around 9.10 am. Army troops swung into action and launched a manhunt operations in and around the village where the driver was kidnapped.
Meanwhile, another section officer of the Manipur fisheries department, who was kidnapped by suspected KCP (MTF) activists on Rs 20 lakh demand also escaped from the kidnappers on Monday.
It might be mentioned that the SO, Veda Prakash was abducted on November 26 by the two activists from his office premise at Lamphel, Imphal. Police refused to disclose details though the victim’s statement was taken.
