3-day BSNL strike begins

A proposed three-day strike announced by joint committee of associations/unions of BSNL executives and non-executives, NE-II telecom circle, Dimapur commenced Wednesday at its head office, Super Market Dimapur.
From their 11-point charter demands, the BSNL employees main demands included immediate settlement of India Telecom Service (ITS) Group A absorption issues, refunding of Rs. 18500 crores that was paid to government towards 3G and BWA spectrum charges by BSNL and implementation of the government’s commitments of financial viability of BSNL at the time of corporatisation by continuing exemption from licence fee and continuation of ADC, USP funds etc.
