Political parties in Manipur Wednesday came down heavily on the reported arrest of UNLF chairman, RK Meghen alias Sana Yaima from Bihar’s Motihari yesterday.
Mention may be made that the BBC news agency earlier filed a report of arrest of Sana Yaima from Dhaka by a combined team of RAW and its counterparts, Bangladesh intelligence, which was later admitted by the UNLF saying that their chairman was arrested on September 29 last.
The UNLF had even given the registration number of Dhaka Metro G-17-0716 while pointing out that he was abducted from Lalmatia area around 12.30 pm.
Manipur People Party (MPP) president Dr Nimaichand Luwang asserted that it was due to strong pressure from the people and opposition political parties that led to the Central government “telling lie and a stage managed” arrest of Sana Yaima.
BJP, Manipur pradesh president, Sh Santikumar criticized the Centre for telling a ‘big lie’ to the people of the state.
CPI, Manipur State council strongly decried the move of the Central government observing that the latest report of Meghen’s arrest has put the people of Manipur in a confusion state. Centre should make a clarification in this regard, CPI state secretary Langol Iboyaima demanded.
It maybe mentioned that Sana Yaima was produced before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Motihari and is being brought to Delhi on a transit remand.
