Sensitization programme on HIV and AIDS organized by Network of People Living with HIV (NMP+) Mokokchung and sponsored by Bharti Infratel Limited was held at Longsa Baptist Church on November 28. Business head of Bharti Infratel Limited, Bhaskar Rai stated the first step to fight the deadly pandemic was education and therefore urged the youth to actively participate in such kind of awareness campaign.
During the programme, short speeches were delivered by Longsa village council member, vice president Ao Women Association Dr. Kilangla and Ao student conference education secretary Akum Kichu. After the formal programme, sensitization and seminar was conducted on HIV and AIDS and Chronic Care, HIV and AIDS Scenario of Mokokchung, facts about HIV and AIDS and ART. It may also be mentioned that sensitization programme was the first of it kind organized by Bharti Infratel Limited which aimed to reach all remote rural places in the district. The programme was attended by more than 500 people of the village.
