Reacting to a press statement published in a local daily on November 28 under the caption ‘GBs’ Union of Lotsu circle’, issued by its general secretary Rutsamo Ovung, the president of GBs’ Union Lotsu Circle, Chumjamo Ovung stated the news item was “thoroughly false and unfounded”.
The GB clarified the work being executed on Sanis ‘O’ point to Moilan village PWD road (33 km) was neither carried out by Thomas Ngullie nor at his behest but executed as assured by area MLA, deputy speaker, NLA, Ralanthung Yanthan.
Contrary to the claim made by the secretary, a four member team led by its GB was delegated through a meeting of GBs’ union of Lotsu Circle and accordingly met deputy speaker on August 25. The release went on to add that during the meeting, the speaker assured that maintenance work would be done during dry season and on October 4, a JCB was deputed at the site and that the work was yet to be completed.
The GB also clarified that as per instruction by the deputy speaker, the ongoing work done under the supervision of the respective area village chairman and GBs in which Rutsamo Ovung himself is a supervisor of his village area. Further, the GB on behalf of GB’s Union Lotsu Circle expressed regret on the undue damage caused to his name and also to the union.
