Traffic regulation in Dimapur

In view of the forthcoming festive season, Dimapur traffic control has issued a series of public safety measures. Two wheeler commuters have been directed to wear protective head-gear (helmet). Taking instance of the three fatalities due to head injuries and several cases of serious injuries in the last few week, the Dimapur traffic control would be checking two wheelers both day and night. Two wheeler commuters have also been directed to adhere to the existing “One Way” regulations in Dimapur town, failing which a penalty would be imposed.
In a notification issued by SP Dimapur, drivers have been informed not to drive when intoxicated as it endangers not only the driver’s life but other innocent commuters, not to indulge in rash driving and not to park vehicle in the highway. In case vehicle breaks down due to mechanical failure, one may contact 03862-232106 or 03862- 228400. Vehicles without proper lights would be challaned/penalized, stated SP. All vehicular commuters have been requested to obey traffic rules and regulations failing which traffic personnel would impose penalties.
