Voicing concern over recent kidnappings of businessmen and extortion in Dimapur by various groups and individuals, Kohima Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KCCI) Sunday stated that the “epidemic” might spread across Nagaland if the state government did not take effective measures at the earliest. Stating this in a press release issued here, KCCI president Kesao Kesiezie and general secretary Vitshu Vizo also appealed to all Nagas to view the problems faced by the business community as an impact of kidnapping and extortion, affecting the whole community. Meanwhile, KCCI has extended its support to the demand of Dimapur Chamber of Commerce for authorities to expedite the arrest of the kidnappers and extortionists.
