Tenyimi officers urged to contribute for dev. in Wokha

Deputy Commissioner, Rovilato Mor, exhorted the Tenyimi government officers in particular to give their best for the development of Wokha district.
He was exhorting the annual picnic of Tenyimi Union, Wokha district held on the bank of Chubi dam on December 4. The picnic was attended by hundreds of members from Chakhesang, Rengma, Angami, Mao, Zeliang and Pochury community.
Apart from highlighting the importance of community get-together and others, Mor requested the Tenyimi people not to fail the confidence reposed on them by the host tribe, the Kyongs.
Several speakers, including Kiyavi Rengma and Hilo Semp, PD, DRDA, Wokha also addressed the gathering and presented valuable suggestions and advice to the members.
Delivering a marathon speech, the outgoing president of the Tenyimi Union, K. Metha furnished information about the TUWD during the last twelve years to the members.
He also expressed his satisfaction about the peaceful co-existence of the Tenyimia community in the district, thus far. The formal session and the union’s office bearer’s election was chaired and conducted by the out-going joint secretary, Neibu Angami.
The office bearers of the new team are president- Nijaselie Terhuja, vice president-Wachuya Apon, general secretary- Posunyi Puroh, joint secretary- Simon Zeliang, finance secretary- Mathew Yhome, statistical secretary- Obed Kath, publicity and information secretary Mudoveyi Chakhesang and Kerechu Pochury, women coordinator- Pulesale Rhetso.
The new advisory board members are Rovilato Mor, deputy commissioner Wokha, Kiyavi Rengma and K. Metha.
The presence of the Kyong Hoho general secretary, Michael Yanthan; NEEPCO senior officials; Sr. SP Wokha, S. Sangtam; Orenthung Patton, SDO (C) Sanis; members of Tenyimi women married to Kyong community and the other well wishers made the day all the more meaningful.
