VK area leaders halt proposed bandh

Following the clarification issued by PHED chief engineer (CE) Mhondamo Ovung regarding water project under NRDWP (CSS) for VK EAC headquarter and nine surrounding villages under Zunheboto, public leaders and various NGOs of VK Area have decided to suspend its proposed indefinite bandh at NH-61.
VK Area GB’s Association chairman Nitoyi Assumi, secretary Kakiho Awomi, VK Range Students’ Union president Amento Chishi and VK Area Youth Organisation president Vikheshe Shohe, stated in a joint press release that public leaders accepted and appreciated the CE for fulfilling the second demand of their two-point ultimatum. On partial fulfillment of the first demand and also assurance from implementing officer, the public leaders have decided to keep the indefinite bandh “in abeyance in good faith”.
