Through this column, I want to clarify on ‘Counter rejoinder to Kakiho Achumi’ issued by Lungda Nring, chairman, Jalukie Pumling Nko and Irai Hingleu, secretary, Jalukie Pumling Nko in this local daily dated December 4. It is well known fact that Ghowoto village and Lhothavi village existed next to Zutovi village.
These two villages existed next to Zutovi village and under the permission of these villages, I, K. Xekiye (Lazami) established the village of K. Xekiye village in 1981. It was recognized by government of Nagaland in May 1996 after which the Jalukie Old village authorities abated outsiders to grab my village land and established village as Jalukielo in 1997 within the demarcation of the village.
My village was demarcated during the recognition boundaring Amaluma village river in the north, Aluto Peak in the South, Atu Stream in the East and Balu Stream (Lhothavi village) in the West (vide home department notification No. GAB-11/8/81 dated May 29 1996).
Therefore, the present Jalukielo is encroaching village land under the abatement of Old Jalukie. So, the contention of Lungda Nring, chairman, Jalukie Pumling Nko who versed- ‘Hienking being the chairman has every right to invite selective people to settle in his land so that the good remain good and the mongers are not mix-bred. However, let this be known that that statement ‘Kakiho Achumi, K Xekiye, Ghowoto village and all Sema brothers are so far not invited’ is nothing but creating enimity.
So, K Xekiye village condemn his version and demand unconditional apology. The council also ban hunting, fishing, etc., within the village jurisdiction.
The village authority will not be held responsible for any unwarranted incidences.
K Xekiye Swu, Hd. GB cum chairman, K. Xekiye village, Dhansiripar Dimapur.
