Accident cases in Kohima

As the seven-day annual Hornbill Festival ended Tuesday evening, several accident-related cases in the state capital have been reported.
Police said there has been a head-on collision between two cars-- one Santro and one local taxi (Maruti van)-- along the New Secretariat road around 10.15 pm, wherein nine persons were injured.
The Santro (NL-01C-4693), with occupants was heading towards New Secretariat while the taxi (NL-01T-6133) with four occupants, was coming towards High School junction when they collided. Police said all the nine occupants were injured and were rushed to Naga Hospital Kohima and private nursing home.
Meanwhile, in a hit and run case, an elderly woman was reportedly hit by a Tata Mobile on Tuesday around 6 pm near Naga Hospital colony on NH-29. The woman sustained minor injury and her condition was said to be out of danger.
Following the incident, police swung into action and was able to trace the Tata Mobile bearing registration number NL-07A-1260, however, the driver was reportedly absconding, police added.
