Amway donates aid to children of KODH

Amway Opportunity Foundation, the Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) arm of Amway India presented annual educational aid to all children of Kohima Orphanage & Destitute Home (KODH) in Kohima today.
Kohima Orphanage & Destitute Home is AOF’s partner under Project Sunrise – an initiative aimed at the betterment of underprivileged children. This donation marks 2nd year of partnership with Kohima Orphanage & Destitute Home under Project Sunrise.
To mark the beginning, AOF presented annual educational sponsorship comprising tuition fee, school fee, transportation, school bags, books and stationary items.
At a formal function, Banuo Z. Jamir, additional chief secretary and commissioner, Nagaland graced the occasion as chief guest.
Bickramjit Paul, Area Manager, Northeast, Amway India and a volunteer for Amway Opportunity Foundation presented annual educational aid comprising annual educational sponsorship, educational stationary to Zaputuo-u Angami of Kohima Orphanage & Destitute Home.
Banuo Z. Jamir lauded Amway’s gesture and stated that the initiative was worth emulating. The children of Kohima Orphanage & Destitute Home also enthralled the audience with a cultural programme. Commenting on initiative, Bickramjit Paul said, “The annual educational aid to the children of Kohima Orphanage & Destitute Home is the sequel to our ongoing support for the children in health, education and access to safe drinking water under project sunrise that we undertook in 2009.
The aim behind Project Sunrise was to work in partnership with the NGOs and orphanages to ensure a bright future for the less privileged children and help them become economically self-reliant. Amway Opportunity Foundation also presented annual transportation sponsorship for all the school going children of the orphanage.
