Legislators to observe pre-Christmas
DIMAPUR: Nagaland legislators would be celebrating pre-Christmas December 12, 4 p.m. at State Banquet Hall, chief minister’s residential complex, Kohima. Being organized on the theme “peace on earth, goodwill towards men”, the programme would be led NLA state chaplain Rev.Khrütsoi Lurüo while Mission Baptist Church pastor Rev. Moa Longchar would be the speaker.
BUD annual general meeting
DIMAPUR: Bhumnyu Union Dimapur (BUD) has convened annual general meeting on December 11, 9 am at the residence of its treasurer, Y. Koitaii Phom. All members have been requested to attend the meeting.
DYE general meeting
DIMAPUR: Dimapur Yanpha Ekhung (DYE) has convened a general meeting on December 11, 10 am at the residence of Nchumbemo Humtsoe (H/No.313, Duncan Bosti Dimapur). All the office bearers and members have been requested to attend the meeting.

DIMAPUR: Dimapur Bar Association (DBA) is organizing annual picnic on December 11 at Kukidolong, Jalukie old bridge. All members have been requested to reach Dimapur town hall, half Nagarjan at 7.30 am and all the prosecution, bench and staff have been invited to attend the picnic.
DIC inform EDP trainees
DIMAPUR: Directorate of Industries and Commerce (DIC) has informed that 7th batch of entrepreneurs’ short term training on Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) would start from December 13 to 24 at Indian institute of entrepreneurship, Guwahati Assam. Selected candidates of EDP from Dimapur and Kohima districts have been informed to collect train tickets (to and fro) and bus fares from officer-in-charge district industries centre Dimapur, Jon Ezung (9436830753) on December 12.
HTWMI gospel-cum-charity programme
DIMAPUR: Heal The World Ministries International (HTWMI) would organize a special gospel-cum-distribution of clothes to the needy at railway station at 11 am on December 10.

DIMAPUR: Christ for the Downtrodden Ministry (CDM) in collaboration with Sympathy Society (SS) would organize a special gospel-cum-free medical camp for the under privileged children on December 12 at its office, Industrial village Razhuphe Dimapur.

DIMAPUR: The annual meeting and revival of Chakhesang Christian Revival Church Women Organization (CCRCWO) would be held from December 10-12 at Khezhakeno lower village with Rev Vevozo Khamo and Arele as speakers.
Tuensang DPDB meet postponed
KOHIMA: In view of the visit of home minister Imkong L. Imchen to Kuthur as chief guest during the golden jubilee celebration of Kuthur Village Students’ Union on December 10, the DPDB meeting cum picnic for Tuensang district has been postponed to December 14. However, venue of the meeting- cum- picnic and other arrangements will remain unchanged.
ZSU golden jubilee
KOHIMA: Zhadima Students’ Union (ZSU) will be celebrating its golden jubilee from December 18 to 19 under the theme “Education sustainability” with Zalie-o Rio, IAS, secretary, PHED as chief guest and Rev. Dr. Visielie Soliezuo, principal, Faith Theological Seminary, Kohima as devotional minister. Neiyalie Angami, Retd assistant director, youth resources and sports would be the guest of honour.
EAC/DSP/AEO 2009 induction programme
DIMAPUR: The inaugural programme for the Common Induction and Foundation Course of EAC/DSP/AEO 2009 batch probationers would be held on December 10, 4 pm at Imagine Nagaland Hall, ATI with state chief secretary, Lalthara as chief guest.
MSU general conference from Dec 28
DIMAPUR: The 36th general conference of Mütsalemi Students’ Union (MSU) will be held on December 28-29 in the Panchayat Hall from 8.30 am with 19 Phek A/C NPF president Api Vadeo as chief guest. Highlights of the programme would include different games & sports events, indigenous songs, debate and extempore speech etc. MSU informed that prizes were being sponsored by DFO Phek Kivito Shohe. All Mütsalemi students have been requested to attend the event.
KDCC to commemorate 125 years of INC
DIMAPUR: Joining Congress party across the nation in celebrating the attainment of 125 years of Indian National Congress (INC), Kohima District Congress Committee (KDCC) would be organizing commemoration program on December 11 at the conference hall of Congress Bhavan, Kohima. AICC secretary Capt. Praveen Davar, NPCC president S.I. Jamir and a host of party leaders would be addressing the programme.
Free LS camp held at Zunheboto
DIMAPUR: A free laparoscopic (keyhole) female sterilization camp was conducted at Hezukhu Memorial District Hospital Zunheboto on December 9. Laparoscopic tube ligation was performed on 25 patients and special incentives were given to the beneficiaries. The camp was conducted under NRHM/RCH programme under the supervision of district hospital MS Dr. Ahokhe Shikhu and laparoscopic tube ligation was performed by surgical specialist Dr. Shikato Yeptho and MO Dr. Kanato.
LIC officer robbed
DIMAPUR, DEC 9 (NPN): One LIC officer on Thursday was robbed by a miscreant at Church Road, who sprayed an itching solution on the victim’s neck before fleeing away with the snatched items. A complaint lodged with the police by the victim stated that some insurance papers, agents manual book and seven A/C payee cheques drawn on Axis bank were taken away by the miscreant. BTC Pfutsero conducts cleanliness drive
DIMAPUR: Community of Baptist Theological College Pfutsero launched ‘Shine Pfutsero Shine’ earlier on June 26 this year. As part of the continuing activity, the college with its sponsor body, CBCC and with cooperation of Pfutsero town council advisory board members carried out cleanliness drive December 6. The college further appealed all citizens of Pfutsero town to keep the town clean. Meanwhile, ‘Shine Pfutsero Shine’ music fest would be held on December 11 where M. K. Mero, commissioner and secretary information & public relations and new & renewable energy would address the programme as speaker.
ZCC to celebrate golden jubilee
DIMAPUR: Zhadima Catholic Church would be celebrating 50 years on December 11 and 12. Rt. Rev. John Moolachira DD Bishop of Diphu would preside over the Eucharist celebration on December 12, while blessing of the jubilee memorial stone would be done by Rev. Fr. James KC parish priest Cathedral Church Kohima, unveiling of the memorial stone by DC Wokha Rovilato Nicholas, inauguration of new church building by Catholic Association of Nagaland president Nosasol Charles and blessing of the new church by Diocese of Kohima vicar general Rev. Fr. Niesalhou Carolus Kuotsu.
SOWSORD consultation programme
DIMAPUR: Social Welfare Society for Rural Development (SOWSORD) conducted a consultation programme on ‘advocacy and lobby’ at Pochury Baptist Church Chumukedima on December 5. Resource person for the programme was senior coordinator DPNEI CASA Guwahati L.Meru who apprised participants on government food schemes and the right to life and food for citizens.
MVYO condemns
DIMAPUR: Medziphema Village Youth Organization (MVYO) has condemned the incident where its former president Akhotuo Kuotsu was allegedly manhandled and his vehicle snatched by three unknown gunmen on November 26 at Nagarjan. MVYO stated that though a complaint had been lodged with the police, there has been no development on the lost vehicle till date. In this regard, organization has requested the authority for early solution of the case and further appealed citizens to condemn such acts.

DIMAPUR: Kuki Students’ Union Dimapur (KSUD) has congratulated Hattinneng Hangsing of Ahthibung Town for winning ‘Miss Nagaland 2010’.
World Aids day observed at Tizit
DIMAPUR: World Aids day-cum-lucky draw was organized by Turning Point Organisation (TPO) and KBCTT youth was held at Tizit town on December 1. The function was graced by adhoc committee chairman Khampei Konyak as chief guest and director TPO Mon H.Chongying Yinlunghu as resource person.
One expelled from NNC/FGN
DIMAPUR: NNC/FGN has discharged Khehoto Zhimo, “leacy” Sumi region on December 9 citing “irreparable performance”. Informing this in a press note, FGN Sumi region “dy.kilonser, lota-cum-midan peyu” Hekhuvi Achumi stated that the FGN has passed the “ahza” on Khehoto for lack in confidence for “reasons best known to him”.
