ANTAD, DTDU clarify formation of bodies

Reacting to a news item that appeared in local dailies on December 9, All Nagaland Taxi Association Dimapur (ANTAD) has clarified that reformation of its unit could not be termed as “unauthorized”, stating as per the constitution of its parent body All Nagaland Taxi Association, all units were allowed to operate under the aegis of ANTA.
According to ANTAD president Tohozhe Awomi, reformations of the unit was purely for the welfare of taxis in particular and the public in general. He stated that leveling allegations against the unit was “absurd, baseless and in violation of the constitution of ANTA.”
Meanwhile, also clarifying the authenticity of its body, Dimapur Taxi Drivers’ Union (DTDU) stated that its union was created in the interest of all taxi drivers under labour department and NOC by the district administration. A press note issued by DTDU general secretary Shilu Jamir stated that, thus the DTDU was an authorized and official body working for the welfare of its members and would continue to protect its members.
