VJ’s coaching centre Dimapur, celebrated its 10th foundation day on Thursday at the center’s premises. Besides moulding students of class 10-12, the centre also provides coaching to JEE, NEE-1, NEE-2, AIEEE aspirants.
VJ’s coaching centre, a private institute started in the year 2000 by late Benny V.J. with just 24 students, is now managed by Amenla Longchar (wife of Lt. Benny) with 460 students enrolled from faculty of arts, science and commerce in the current year.
Nagaland vigilance commissioner Metongmeren who graced the occasion as chief guest, exhorted the gathering on the programme’s theme ‘To Strive, To Seek, To Find’ and stated that the institute was a “multi-disciplinary grooming or production centre”, reminding the responsibilities that one is endowed with.
Thanking God for the milestone that VJ’s coaching centre has achieved, the chief guest encouraged students to strive hard and diligently stick to the discipline they were being taught and not to stay complacent or dependent.
Reminiscing his first encounter with late Benny, who came up to him with idea of establishing a coaching centre to boost the morale of the youth and encourage them, Metongmeren said the centre has become a model institute in shaping the destiny of many young minds to strive for excellence in life.
He also said life was not all about education or about how much one worked to earn, but to have uniform holistic education.
Earlier, deputy director of education (retd.), L.N. Sashi invoked God’s blessing, while welcome speech was delivered by Amenla Longchar, and English department lecturer Susan read out an ode to the founder of VJ’s coaching centre, late Benny V.J.
