AR conducts CA training
DIMAPUR: 20 Assam Rifles under HQ 5 Sector Assam Rifles of HQ IGAR (N) conducted training of fifth batch of students on Computer Applications (CA) at the unit Computer Training Center, Ghaspani. According to Lt. Col. RP Velu, PRO IGAR (N), 23 students completed their training where 11 students scored above 70% marks.
The commandant awarded certificates in computer application to all the successful students. So far, a total of 115 students have undergone the course, affiliated with the directorate of technical education Nagaland.
DHD celebrate pre-Christmas
DIMAPUR: Staff of District Hospital Dimapur (DHD) and CMO office celebrated advent Christmas with NMM director Rev. Wati Longkumer as main speaker on the theme “Jesus is the hope of the world.” Staff of the two offices donated `300 each, totaling to `30,000, and health and family welfare minister Kuzholezo Neinu donated `10,000, all for the cause of the patients and for poor patients’ fund.

DIMAPUR: Akuluto VK Area Union Kohima (AVKAUK) elected its new office bearers with Khekiye Yeptho as president, Yekiye Sumi as vice president, Ayeto Sumi as general secretary among three members.
FTC annual thanksgiving day
DIMAPUR: Faith Theological College (FTC) observed annual thanksgiving day on December 8 with vice president central women wing NPF Khetoli Chishi as chief guest. While encouraging the students and staff to strive for peace, unity, and love fulfilling the hopes and aspirations of Naga people, the chief guest also donated and sponsored cash prizes of duet competition.
SATWO farewell-cum-felicitation programme
DIMAPUR: Sumi Aphuyemi Teachers’ Welfare Organisation (SATWO) DIS Pughoboto organised farewell-cum-felicitation of class-4 board examination toppers on December 2, Pughoboto. Vice chairman adhoc town committee Pughoboto Viyikhu Wotsa was the chief guest. Meanwhile, the organisation has expressed gratitude to the chief guest, and the 4 retired teachers for their effort and help and further congratulated all the passed out board students.
ZSU fetes; condemns murder
DIMAPUR: Zeliang Students’ Union (ZSU) has congratulated additional director and faculty head (Chinese language) India-China chamber of commerce and industry, Mumbai Jenny Zeliang d/o Isamteing Zeliang of Benreu village; Kedizin Zeliang s/o Namchuilak Zeliang of Mpai village for winning medal at 1st NE wrestling championship, Aizawl; and Miss Nagaland 2010 winner Hattinneng Hansing d/o Paotong Hansing of Ahthibung. Meanwhile, the union has condemned the incident where ABSI (RO) of 10 NAP (IR) Kwerieheung Dominic Zeliang was murdered by a constable Purlemba Ao of Nokpu village on December 2 at West Bengal. The union also conveyed its condolence to the bereaved family members.
TSUD general session concludes
DIMAPUR: Tikhi Students’ Union Dimapur (TSUD) concluded its 3rd general session on December 7 with lecturer W. Khintsü Tikhir as speaker. The speaker spoke on “Education is an integrated growth” and “Necessity of culture and tradition in social recognition” during the session.
