Security forces apprehend seven persons

Security forces apprehended six underground activists and one civilian in two separate incidents here in the last two days. On December 9, a combined team of army and Assam Rifles reportedly raided a house at DBS area Kohima, and apprehended four FGN cadres and recovered two .22 pistols along with ammunitions. The arrested persons were identified as Ichanglung of Laisong village, “lt” Taling of Kipeilua, Achang of Lanka village, and FGN women wing secretary Ahungle from Kipeilua.
In another incident, 16 AR personnel Friday reportedly apprehended three persons including two NSCN (I-M) cadres and a civilian near Razhu point while attempting to extort money from a shop. A 7.65 pistol along with some live rounds were recovered from their possession.
The accused were identified as “capt.” Thungshok Tangkhul and “razu peyu” Vide Angami. However, the identity of the civilian was not disclosed. They were later handed over to the police.
