Secretary Nagaland state Agricultural Marketing Board (NSAMB) C. Mozhui said agricultural product marketing centre (APMC) was a nodal agency under agri and allied sector to facilitate organized marketing system.
While stressing on objective of APMC, Mozhui maintained that it was a farmer oriented set up where, the village council through village marketing committee play a key role in building a strong marketing base along with other functionaries to provide needs of the farmers to market their produces. He was speaking at the inauguration of Weighbridge at APMCcomplex in Mokokchung on November 16.
He further went on to add that farmers should plan ahead for undertaking crop plantation keeping in mind the marketing value and should have entrepreneurial skills to survive in a very competitive market.
The inaugural function was attended by officials from agri and allied departments, APMC members and village council members. Earlier, Sentimeren, associate pastor, MTBA pronounced the invocation while L. Bur Longkumer, executive member, agricultural product marketing centre Mokokchung delivered the welcome address.
Village council, chairman, Imonungba delivered a brief note. The programme was chaired by I. Panger Longkumer, chairman APMC, Mokokchung and vote of thanks by Imro.
