Challenges in mission works stressed at 2nd day conference

Resource persons on the second day of the 2nd Naga missionary conference on Friday evening at Dimapur Ao Baptist Church shared their "experiences and challenges" lying ahead in mission works.
Speaker for the evening session Malcolm McGregor, International Director, Serving in Mission (SIM) emphasizing on the purpose of mission said "Mission is about discipleship" and mobilization of others.
Quoting from the Gospel of Matthew, he preached on life of Jesus and His ministry on this earth and on how Jesus undertook the mission in mobilising the people and the disciples to follow him. He said Jesus taught in the context of life itself, used illustrations, gave lectures, miracles, practical tasks, gave examples, and asked questions.
He also elucidated that Jesus taught to get a level of understanding and not just for knowledge. Commenting on the role of Church, he said, "Church is to worship and to witness, and witness must be seen in works and in words."
Delivering his greetings at the conference, Director, Serving In Mission-North East India (SIM-NEI), Rev. Dr. Laiu Facchai stressed on the need for missionaries to work in foreign countries and said "Many Churches are yet to send their missionaries" to the end of the world.
Earlier in the programme, praise and worship was led by Meribeni and friends, special songs were presented by Lotha Baptist Church Dimapur, Sisterhood voice, and Alo Wanth.
The speaker for November 20 evening session would be International Ministries, Bruce Borquist and greetings would be presented by Mission secretary, CBCNEI Rev. Dr. Jolly Rimai.
