Dismayed over the non-fulfillment of water project under NRDWP (CSS) for VK EAC headquarter and nine surrounding villages on VK Area, Zunheboto by the PHED, the four bodies under VK area have placed demand to the government for expediting the project.
A letter addressed to the secretary, public health engineering department signed by VK Area GB’s association chairman Nitoyi Assumi, secretary Kakiho Awomi, VK range students’ union president Amento Chishi and president VC area youth organisation Vikheshe Shohe stated that after considering various options, the VK area bodies decided to demand that all materials and accessories allotted for VK area water supply be transferred to the work site on or before November 27.
The four bodies also alleged that the then chief engineer PHED humiliated the public leaders when they sought information regarding the water project at his official residence (chief engineer) on November 18.
In this connection, the VK area leaders have demanded apology form the PHED chief engineers for using “undemocratic languages” and literally chasing the public leaders from his official residence.
The signatories further cautioned that failing to meet the demands of the public, VK area would be compelled to hold agitation by declaring an indefinite bandh in VK town and its adjoining areas.
