On Sunday, S.P. Karbi Anglong, K.K. Sharma and S.P. Nagaon, Nitul Gogoi reached the spot with additional forces but could not trace out any of those responsible for the communal violence. The area is inaccessible by vehicles and is around 40km from Diphu, the district headquarters of Karbi Anglong.
One of the Karbi victims , Basa Teron, Sikha Beypi told this reporter that, a few days back the Nagaon police, (the area falls within the command of Borlongfer police station) picked up two Karbi boys from Langkaijan in connection with the kidnap of two Muslim persons, Adam Ali and Basa Ali, reported missing since November 5.
It was reported that raiders had gone to the village under the pretext of searching for the two missing muslim men before unleashing violence and committing rape.
